Vikram,
Ha ha, I think I know what you are talking about...a la Hyderabad type.:D
Awaiting the CG's pictures, as the rest of India off road fraternity will have to follow this trend hence forth, to atleast ensure that the event goes off peacefully. Still there's not guarantee.

Now that I have your attention, it was me ( I was with with bunch of cyclist) who waved at you at the Madyakailash junction ....
Glad to learn you guys had a rocking time!!!
Due to a death in the family, I had to go on a very long trip and so missed this one. I'll be waiting for the next one. Tips from Vishnu will help me prepare my Endy for the next meet :)
Hi Guys,
We had a fun OTR on Sunday. There were 4 Gypsy's, 3 MM540s, 2 CJ500Ds, 1 Thar CRDe, 1 CJ3B & 1 Ford Endy.
The OTR started with the Warm Up obstacle and then followed by the "Snake Pit" then Double Climbs (Vikram's Dip:D), followed by the "Izzat Ka Sawaal" Climb & Loop"
Prateesh aka Spike had joined us for the OTR, It was good catching up with him after a long time.
The Ford Endy was in capable hands with Vishnu behinds the wheel.
The Terrain again highlights the need for proper vehicle preparation.
A Skid-Plate is a must for all JEEPs & Gypsy's.
All Vehicles must have a Rated Recovery Point Front & Rear.
Also All members need to carry their vehicle specific spares and Tools.
Use the Vehicle during the Week Before the OTR to know its fitness and peculiarities.
One Gypsy Lost its T-Case Bed, and another had niggling G-Box issues, which were further aggravated by the terrain..
One MM540 had the radiator flexing into the fan, destroying the radiator, this problem is peculiar to MM540DP (XDP4.9), which has the Radiator bolted to the Front Grille, unlike the MM550XDs which has the Radiator Bracket Bolted to the Radiator Cross Member.
We sealed the Radiator as much as possible, topped up water and drove the vehicle till OMR (15kms) to avoid damage to the engine we decided to n Flat-Towed it to Chennai.
Despite all the delays we made it back to Chennai by 3PM and had "lunch".
Regards,
Arka
PS - Request to Mods to rename the Thread as Thunder Down Under - Chennai OTRs 2011.

Thank you!
At first I was scared that I was going to damage the Endy or roll it over or something but then it turned out to be a very pleasant experience! On the second obstacle especially I was very doubtful my Endy could pass it undamaged but thanks to lots of encouragement by both Arka and Headers I decided to go for it! Scary at first but was great fun.
The drops and climbs look SO much more intimidating when you're inside the car and driving. The videos and pics don't do them justice I feel.
One of my highlights was getting a rear wheel in the air doing my first obstacle. I had seen it on so many videos before but to feel it happen to my car was something special. I felt the left rear rise up and rock up and down. I think the front right might have been off the ground for some time too. Was hoping someone would get a pic of it but no such luck.
The Endy is registered in the name of my dad's company in Ambattur, hence the Ambattur registration plate.
