You can air it down near the OTR spot.....no need to go to the fuel station to do it. We may need to drive quite some distance from the nearest fuel station, to the OTR spot.

PS: Is your Gypsy's starting trouble taken care of? Was it just the battery?

Headers, no offence but since we are both bringing vehicles wouldn't it be easier to just meet up there at 7.30? Im sure i'll see a bunch of hardcore Jeepers and hear them cracking wise jokes about the weight of my SUV, the loong wheel base, the ADR angles, the HT tyres, and how much more light footed their Jeeps will be. Couldn't possibly miss them!

Also, does anyone know where I can get off road equipment in Chennai - Tow straps, D shackles, Sand Ladders, etc?

Thanks

Vikram, Arka and the Chennai Jeepers,

Wish you all have a very action and fun filled OTR.

What a beautiful thing we Jeepers are...the moment we meet or propose to meet across states or cities, all the previous feuds are history. Spike and Chennai boys, Deepak and Vikram (after Thar test drive in Hyd) and many more we don't notice.

Long live this spirit and camaraderie.

@ Spike,
Prateesh you were supposed ot come to Hyd, don't you feel you are 500kms+ off course, going down south?

Get your required permissions (if any) right and avoid disappointments.
Regards,

Yeah, got drifted to Chennai due to the off road bug and to meet fellow enthusiasts; although on a different track my destination is fixed.

I am juggling all my work to ensure I am there on Sunday morning, which in all cases will be.

re: Off-Road in Chennai-- Thunder Down Under 2011

Since I am coming on this OTR my search for AT tyres has got its second wind from near standstill! I have found out that 255/65/16 MRF Wanderer tyres are now available for Rs. 7800/Tyre! Would any of you advise against this?

According to the tyre diameter calculating Formula, the Diameter will reduce by half an inch from stock size of 245/70/16 but since the rim size remains the same I dont think it will reduce by that much. Please advise?

Hi Vishnu,

Stick to the original OD or something taller, no use in going for a reduced OD.

Arka

Yes you can find your way to Tidel Park Sir. You get all the D shackles, Tow cable, etc in Parris Corner.
