Even though the morning was cold and foggy, it didn’t subdue the thrill of adventure in the hearts of our hardcore adventure seekers, including children. First day of the Royal Escape journey- the teams started from Delhi, from stopping for a sumptuous spread at palaces, to a welcome performance by the local artisans of Bikaner and a lot more! Here are some of the exhilarating moments captured in pictures. | Senior - BHPian | Re: The Royal New Year Escape Day 2 - Royal Escape – 29th Dec Day 2 - From the ostentatious Laxmi Nivas Palace the Royal Escape gang headed towards Jaisalmer via Pokaran. 400 kilometres of dune bashing, off-road driving and some of the best highways later we reached Sam dunes near Jaisalmer. Dune bashing was followed by an engaging performance by Queen Harish, dancing, fireworks and a splendid meal. Take a look at the pics! | Senior - BHPian | Re: The Royal New Year Escape Just wanted to share the experience on dune bashing on 2nd evening. We were running late, by the time we reached near SAM dunes it was about 5.00 p.m The idea was to catch the sunset. We started off road about 6.00 p.m with some light left. Choose two hills on each side divided convoy into even & odd numbers. The one on the right side was tougher. Some 5 vehicles were able to cross it but the bigger problem was how do you come back???? One recovery vehicle also was on the other side forcing me to climb up at any cost to recue others. With lot of difficuilty climbed the dune and positioned myself to winch out 3 vehicles. Was one of the toughest recoveries made inch by inch! Finally when all were out there was a participant who wanted to go on the otherside just because she wanted to try it out as others did!!!  It was a tough time convincing her to understand that we don't have time and recovery after sunset and 30 vehicle convoy waiting for us to get back to hotel isnt a good idea. Finally managed to stop her at the crest and reverse just to be customer centric. The convoy started rolling to hotel to call it a day.
