| ![]() I think I can perfectly summarize the SUV wallahs sentiment by saying: We are all game for a track that's challenging and not damaging. |

BHPian ![]() | ![]() Nandu Sir, I am sure there will be sufficient space for all - especially a lovely couple ![]() nilanjanray, would be fantastic to have you come over... we havent thought of night stay yet, really planned to make this a short and sweet soft roading trip, but I guess some of the interested folks can definitely plan a night over. By the way, how many of you folks here are really NOT hard core offroaders? I hope I am not the only one whose only offroading experience is limited to climbing some steps, the south side of Vagator fort (and getting royally stranded on top without a way to turn around safely - rookie offroader mistake #1!) and splashing through shallow lakes. +1 to that! BHPian ![]() | ![]() Hey siddesh, This thread has been up, hardly for a day, & look at the response! ![]() I was in Mumbai yesterday, driving around, attending meetings. Hence couldn't respond. Glad to see the list growing. I've also PMd a few offroading expert TBHPians who are Big Time into this. We could get a few crucial pointers about manouvering & recovery, from them. You mentioned hard core offroading..well, to give you an idea, check out this link I wanted to attend this event, but nilanjan, Tejas, Guderian told me not to, since this is not suitable for our SUVs. Since the Toyota Fortuner Boot Camp , I've been waiting for another such event, where we could meet a few experts & hone our skills. |

![]() We have something very similar for bikers/two-wheelers every year off Satara called Monsoon Madness. Do the Extreme Off-Roaders allow bikes at their events as well? Or is it only for 4-wheelers? Would love to try some of the stuff you guys do as well.

| ![]() Can a Non-Off Roadie join in? I have never been to OTR's and don't even have an off-road capable gaadi. But I would really love to experience it. Thinking of getting my Hunk this time. If allowed, would like to get one of my R.E Bullet freak friend on the meet. (He is an aspiring BHPian) |

I can see a lot of apprehension from some of the folks here as regards terrain, scratches, etc. Well if it gives you any comfort the primary trail that leads straight to Rajmachi village should pose no problem for any of your SUVs. However i dont see that any different from driving on any non-surfaced road outside city limits. Then, there are several other trails that branch off the main trail which again have varying degrees of difficulty but as a disclaimer we have had Pajeros, Endys, Nissan Patrols and Land Cruisers go thru these very easily, only you have to take the odd scratches from tree branches in your stride, nothing that cannot be covered up in a round of polishing. Infact more than scratches on your 'babies' you should be even more concerned about your tyres , especially those running on road tyres with soft and flexy sidewalls ![]() And before any of you start pouncing on me with responses in your defense let me state that I personally hate having scratches on my Gypsy too and have never done anything to abuse her. So offroading according to me has a very fine line but definitive nevertheless, between being over cautious and outright reckless.
