The 88th Great Escape at the golden city of Jaisalmer was a splendid event! Over 40 Mahindra vehicles stormed the dunes, taking no prisoners in their search for adventure and the ultimate driving thrill! Some of these breathtaking pics captured.

The blue Thar is a customized hardtop vehicle made by Mahindra customization. The vehicle has the following features-
  • custom paint job
  • custom hardtop with inner double lining
  • alloy wheels
  • custom bumper
  • recaro type seats- 4 seater
  • High end music system with navigation and bluetooth
  • modified dashboard
  • center console with cubby holes
  • 255 section AT tyres
  • power windows
  • central locking
This was my vehicle in Royal escape. Trust me 3000 kms of drive was as comfortable as it would have been in a scorpio. Further unlike Scoprio this vehicle was nimble enough to recover other vehicles stuck in sand. This package costs about 3.5 to 4 lakh over and above the on road price of the vehicle.

P.s- Annual Great escape is an eagerly awaited escape by our business associates and partners as they get to off road and party at the same time. This event is strictly on invitation only.

Thanks Vinod. The official website of M&M Customisation for the Thar hard top is under construction. Can you, if permitted, post a few interior and exterior pics of that vehicle since you have used it?

This could very well be the Thar most people are looking for.

Re: Annual Great Escape

Awesome event organised by Mahindra, but alas it is too far for us. Is there any event planned in the Eastern/North Eastern part of India? And how does one get an invitation?

Dear Mr.Vinod, the cost of customization, as I received from the customization department for the Adventure Hard-top was 6.4 lakhs. Are there options to sub-select a set of features offered, such that the costs come down ?

thanks
Siva

Hi siva,
There are plenty of options to select from. Pricing is purely dependent on what all you select.

sorry ashok for delayed reply. Annual great escape is purely for M&M business associates and for top media & print guys. Entries are by invitation only. However if you want to have similar fun if not in the same scale M&M has great escapes in north east. Had a recent one in Dimapur and guwahati. Look forward to expeditions in northeast as well. Watch the space on- Mahindra Adventure

Re: Annual Great Escape

Vinod,

A beautiful flag off within a historic monument and what a beautiful cloud cast at the onset of the event.

Some of the pics are poster material, especially the maroon Thar facing the camera with the sand dune in the backdrop.

Nice pics of the party and beautiful fort. Only the tail lamp cluster on the C pillar of the Adventure,,,doesn't it look like signal lights?

Lovely vinod. One thing that i have never done is to drive in sand. Can i hire a vehicle from you next time? Would love to participate.

Also, can you put down this years MGE timetable?

Re: Annual Great Escape

WoW!! Awesome pictures of the event, the Scorpio moving on the sand looks stunning. So does the Thar.

Is there a Great Escape Calender somewhere for the next 6 months / 1 year. If anywhere near Ahmedabad, there's a bunch of us wanting to participate.

Ramky, you stole my words

I can actually just copy paste your entire post, and replace Ahmedabad with Bangalore.
