Sir, If THAT particular THAR can run circles around the Gypsy, you are missing A PARTICULAR GYPSY which you ain't seen yet

If you think THARs in general could run circles around gypsies, DRIVERS being equal, please think again!!

But Dhabhar Sir, Stock Thars are facing regular problems off road in Gurgaon there are over 30 cases of broken front axles, CV joints and Lower wishbone hitting rocks & boulders.
Was the IFS Thar tested extensively off road during its development ?

The suspension is a Bolero derivative or shares the Scorpio system and platform ?

Dear Desertfox - the front suspension is from the Scorpio, although the torsion bar part numbers for Scorpio and Thar are different. Please see EXAMM thread of 25 June 2000 for the details that you want. MH01V521 was there, it did everything without batting an eyelid, comments in the thread prove it.

Very well so why is every production Thar not MH01V521, why such high instances of off road breakdowns and production glitches ?

Hi,

MH01V521 was a R&D vehicle , no need to meet any CMVR !!. Offroad break down cannot be commented as it can happen to any vehicle depends on the brain who drives it.

Lot of THAR CRDe vehicles seems to have brought by newbies , so breakdown may be a learning curve.

After purchase other Thar units can also be modified. What needs to be done ? What is the suggested modification to ensure weak axle rods dont snap if the vehicle is stuck on one of the front wheels ?

Also where do we put more skid plates for better undercarriage protection ?

Relax and enjoy the Machine friend. nothing will happen.Please remove the mental blockage first,Engage 4wd and watch..

First, please intall
1. Skid Plates
2. Radiator mesh
3. Fuel tank guard

For Axle snapping, you are a well experienced person and know how to make it better.

A rear locker would do miracles to the THAR!
