Dear Arka and the entire O-Team,
Congratulation for an Excellent event! Good work guys....
2013 TPC was a bit more different then the last few seen. The reasons being;
1.Rained throughout and a very pleasant weather.
2.Number of participation almost doubled.
3.Tough Special stages, with water crossing and slush
4.Three days of special stages
I personally enjoyed the 4 days of drive / varied off road stages and a good get-together with the pan India off road community.
Watching the 1st timers in TPC specially the Gerrari off roaders with exceptionally well prepared vehicles with excellent team coordination during the SS drive was something to admire.
You guy deserves all the credit for an excellent display of team work and driving skills.
Not forgetting the Coorg team, the TPC winners 2013 for their consistency in drive without breakdowns and outstanding team coordination.
Well done! Congratulation to all.
Over all great job! And congratulations to the organizers for offering one of the best off road event in the country. The only challenge we had was in-terms of the quality of stay compared to the previous years in TPC. However, it’s understood due to the challenges faced this year on account of the stay facility.
Arka, I do have few observations and inputs, hope you guys will find it logical and could be incorporated. Time allotment for Special Stages: All the SS have different design and terrain; it’s either sand dune, rocks, sandy inclines with water cross or a combination of sand and slush. I think you need to have different time allotted for each of these stages, for Eg: A rocky stretch takes more time than any other stages, some of the sandy SS could be completed in 5 munities by a team; therefore allotting the same time (15mnts) for all stages seems unreasonable.
Special Stage completion: Due to unforeseen reasons in day 1&2, not even a single team could attempt or complete all the 7 stages. It varied from 3 to max 6 stages completion. We know how critical it is, as a single stage scores determines the team ranking, therefore it is necessary to ensure that all the team gets ample time to complete all the planned SS, unless some team with major break downs and opts out to attempt.
This time if you have notices, many stages started very late and if the lot number during the start of the stage is last, you end up with maximum 3 stage for the day, the waiting period in few tough SS were more than an hour due to self recovery & support as a result teams waiting in the queue.
I think the organizers should ensure every competing team to have the time to complete all the stages, unless a team decides to back out.
Once again, excellent event with fully packed 4 days of drive.
Looking forward to see TPC reaching new heights in the comming years.
Best Regards
