Re: Seven Fortuners, One Land Rover & Rajmachi Revisited

So you folks noticed a difference between the performance of the Conti and even a new Dunlop?

Nilanjan,

The Contis for sure! Both Karan and Manish managed to sail thru with relative ease, and including Manish's rescue act of pulling out Monaro's stuck vehicle, they seem to be definitely more suited to these conditions.

Lastly, its all about having fun, and, sharing it here !
I offroad purely for fun too, and am nowhere as technical as Arka, Tejas, Samurai and the other gurus in the 4x4 section.

I take my Jeep out someplace, engage the 4x4 lever and head out for pleasure. Some guys enjoy the technical & analytical aspects, but that's not me at all. End of the day, what counts is whether you enjoyed the activity or not. Luckily for me, I have a little bit of experience and the CJ's a mountain goat, so we sail through the rough stuff.

But of course, important to get the basics right (for safety, to clear obstacles and to prevent vehicle abuse).

It's great to see the Fortuners heading out so often and having a blast. Thanks for sharing these pics with us.

Re: Seven Fortuners, One Land Rover & Rajmachi Revisited

Finally Rajmachi conquered. Hurrayyy

Landslide point :- Check
Devils back :- Check
Devils hole :- Check
Donuts :- Check

All this was done without any drama and clutch burn for me this time and my new Continental AT tyres made me sail through the terrain with ease.

Also rescued fellow bhpain and t-fogger Monaro with a help of a tow rope.

While doing donuts i was stuck once but luckily made out of it all by myself with the right techniques.

A sunday well spent and a big shout to all T-foggers and Mad monkey who made it for this outing. A special shout to Ahmed who drove all the way from Aurangabad for this one yet again. Kudosss

Some pics from my end :-

"Got mud ?" Was the right slogan for me after the donut run.

The tow rope is rated at 5 tons and is 3 metres long.

Re: Seven Fortuners, One Land Rover & Rajmachi Revisited

What an amazing ride!
Can't believe I missed it. Hats off to you guys for using the Fortuner and having fun to the fullest.I guess more than 75% of the Fortuners in Mumbai wouldn't have seen the dirt trails.
The reasons given to me by them are :
*Its a costly car.
*It has a lot of fibre parts don't know wether it can take the beating.
*Where is the time and place for carrying out such activities and so on...
Good job guys!
@bhp-can we expect a leh travelogue from you?what happened to your front logo?
@Guderian sir:next time when you go for the ride do keep me informed about it a bit more earlier as I am a 20yr old guy hence permission from the home dept. takes a bit more time.
