Exploring farm trails @ Vasind - Only in a Jeep

Visited an Farmhouse in a small village called Bathsai. This place is at about 70 kms distance from Mumbai on Mumbai - Nasik highway. Vasind is the closest town. The drive to get into this village is an adventure in itself, there is a subway bridge which is filled with about 2 feet of water. So you have to be a little daring to plunge your ridge in, keep the momentum and get out without getting bogged down, then drive down on a narrow path with fields on both sides and you reach a small village with about 50 houses.

Over there this guy Wayne has a nice setup. He has a building with about 8 rooms, couple of tents, swimming pool and also offers does adventure stuff like kayaking, fishing etc. Clean toilets and quiet habitable, all by the lake side.

I met Wayne for the first time and he is an interesting guy. I expressed my interest to explore off- roading in his trail which he allowed graciously. He then asked the kids who live in the village and help him with his farmhouse activities to take me around. God , I dint know these small kids were one daring lot and they took us around and how, they were damn excited to be in the open jeep and we explored the place from a 10 year old eyes.the pictures are also taken by him. Where probably a tractor would have gone last and that too last year, some place where no vehicle had gone. Boy, it was fun. I was a bit nervous as I was offroading alone with no one to back me up or provide recovery. This is kind of a trail which can been done only in a jeep/gypsy. We did the trail twice, once on Saturday evening and second time Sunday morning. There is a small stream crossing as well. Sharing some pictures, Hope you like them.

PS - bonus for Mumbai offroaders, I have spoken to Wayne about couple of my friends coming to do the trail. He is ok with it. So here you go, one more trail to explore. Please note - This is a farm trail, like a safari. Difficulty level is low.

Sweet place! Always on the lookout for spots close to Mumbai. Plus, I do Mumbai-Nasik pretty often.

Thanks! Would it be possible for you to share his website & contact details? Also, Google map co-ordinates?

That's right Tejas, he is the guy. Hope you guys like the trail.

Since it's not very technical and difficult, it can be done by solo jeep with family. Sanjay and Pankaj are the names of two dude kids. Extremely bold guys.

Hey Andy, unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of the subway bridge.

I am guessing you are bit apprehensive if your vehicle will be able to cross the subway, i have seen rickshaw, busses, jeeps and cars clearing them. So you should be able to do it easily by using simple water wading techniques.

And secondly, the water level is high during heavy rains , other times it shouldn't be that bad.
