Nice lineup of rides overall (though surprised at the lack of any 340 chassis / SWB 4x4??). The videos greatly help in understanding the obstacle better.

Great report, thanks for sharing! Sure you guys had a blast. Having a farmhouse nearby helps when out for a dirty day.

This report will be going straight to our homepage!
Thank you.

Yeah, it's always nice to have a place to get into dry clothes before heading back.

Love such OTRs. Can enjoy the awesome weather and small groups means more fun and less waiting at obstacles.

Hi Sanju, drop me a pm with your contact details (phone/email). When we plan a SUVish trail will get in touch with you.

Well I am sure it would have been a hell of affair in the cavity out there.

Maharashtra is charming during Monsoon and it comes out well in the photologue.

Loved it all.

Thanks

Thanks. We've just been busy this monsoons with our winch challenge, then spectating the RFC and barely managing to squeeze in a few OTRs and now heading off towards Leh for an expedition.

I quite like what Samurai has said. .

Do you think this kind of offroading can be pulled off using a soft roader like the Duster AWD? The first gully and the climb to the top of the hill seemed quite difficult. Esp. if the Gypsy couldn't do both easily.

What kind of offroading can soft roaders like Duster AWD pull-off safely? Do we have offroading events where such soft roaders can participate? Can "not so serious offroading enthusiasts" who want to have a single car (for various reasons) enjoy some offroading with a car like Duster AWD?

No, these are very difficult for Grand Vitara, let alone Duser AWD. Keep in mind Vitara has low ratio while Duster doesn't.

Yes, Arka conducts SUV specific events in Chennai. There is one this month.

Seems like a very nice OTR you guys had down there. And a well composed report. Just wondering what are the tyre size / specs on the gypsy with the winch.

Regards
Ronnie

Hey @Tejas@perioimpl,

Could you post some pics of of the insides of your blue jeep. Especially the area behind the seats. I am planning on converting my 550 to a front only hard top and would appreciate the help.

Also from where can I source the rear antenna your jeep is sporting?

There's nothing behind the seats. The roof goes all the way down to separate the rear compartment.

I'm off to leh tomorrow morning and the jeep is in garage for regular maintenance. So all pics after i return on 21st.

The antenna was sourced from Dubai.

I really like the last set of pictures which indicate the steep climb! Very good.Vegetation is huge hindrance to traction. Did you deflate tyres to certain pressure?
I recently bought a flag pole for my vehicle for 25 Aed, the height is around 2.8 mts.
