Polaris Experience Zone inaugurated on NH1, near Sonepat (Haryana) Polaris India has inaugurated its 3rd Polaris Experience zone in Haryana, located in Ganaur on NH1 near Sonepat. Spread over an area of three acres, ‘Adventure Ride Zone’ offers a custom made offroad track with a total of five ATVs (All-Terrain Vehicles) which includes two Phoenix 200, two Outlaw 90 and one Sportsman 90. The facility also houses a 50-seater restaurant. The offroad area has a dirt track with slush pit, humps, sand and stones, but its also being targeted as a place for families looking to spend time with adventures. There will be skilled trainers present to ensure rider safety and to help them in honing their ATV riding skills.
The outlaw 90 is one of the smaller ATVs available for a ride.
The track is relatively easy, even for first timers. It will be fun to ride for the kids though.
The mud pits at the time of inauguration were not slippery enough to be challenging. The Phoenix 200 ATV could pass them without any effort.
Being a small track, it has tight turns, not much enjoyable for enthusiasts. Aimed mainly at families with Kids.
I got a chance to ride the Phoenix 200 ATV at the event. It is powered by a 196 cc engine mated to a CVT transmission. It's a rear wheel driven ATV with studded 10 inch offroad tyres.
Even for a first timer, it's easy to get used to the controls. The engine is electrically started with both the brakes engaged. The throttle is controlled by a thumb operated controller. There is an initial lag once you push the throttle - similar to CVT equipped scooters like the Honda Activa. The ride was enjoyable, but I found the track too easy and turns too tight for this ATV. The Phoenix 200 could easily clear obstacles without even trying, at close to idle engine speed. I guess the track will be more enjoyable with smaller and lighter 90cc ATVs which will also be available for the ride. |
