Thought I share these photographs with you, A german photographer, Robert Huber, has been driving in his Sumo 4x4 from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. He spends 11 months of the year in India, one of the books he is working on is all about Kashmir, attached are some of his pics. He has self driven over 1,50,000 km in India, not all in the 4x4 sumo.

He uses a canon 1Ds mkII with a 24mm tilt/shift lens.

1. Driving in the Nubra valley
2. Road to Pangong lake
3. Horsemen at the More plateau
4. fresh snow at surajlake at baralachala pass, 4980m

Is the SUMO available in 4x4 version?

Good photos. Clouds look more processed.

Thanks sat for sharing those wonderful pics.

Wonderful pictures. These are truly professional pictures.

Very nice photos...really amazing.

awesome pics.. waiting to go sometime

hi sat,
Amazing pics!!! Really beautiful. Please post more pics of SUMO 4x4. I have seen some military examples and they look handsome. They have stopped civillian examples from past one year...This is what i was told by the dealer. Wish they could rel-aunch it with TATA 407 turbo engine with 4x4, A/c and P/S. Iam sure it would be a good alternative to now the only offering, Bolero 4wd in MUV category. (Gypsy & Gurkha not included due to delivery constraints)

please paste more pics of SUMO 4x4 in action

truly amazing pics @Sat. did not know there is a 4x4 version of the Sumo.

awesome pics, will be happy to see more pics.. :)

Robert's sumo nicknamed 'safed hathi' in kashmir...

Photos 1 and 2 would make great ad shots for the Sumo .. even better than the Pajero ads (with wildlife) shown recently..

So Sumo 4x4 was one reliable beast I guess, if we could get some first hand review reports from Mr. Huber that would be something. After all he drove the Sumo from the tip to tip of our country (I presume). :)

Robert told me the 2nd time he had to use the 4wd on the entire trip was when he came to this road block, 2nd & 3rd pic. After a few hours of road repair by hand, he drove the sumo around the truck, taking a path on the right side of the fallen truck (past the wheels) in 3rd pic.

Amazing Pics.

Hope am able to go on such a journey sometime. *sigh
