Arka the efforts you are making to further the sport is truly commendable. Great work and wish you and your associates the very best

This would be my first palar...hope to learn good 4x4 driving lessons:-)

Arka,

I have a few questions:

What would be the terrain like? The pics show mostly sandy uneven ground.
How will a heavy Landcruiser 80 handle it?
How far is Palar from Chennai?

Thanks,
Red-One.

Palar is the name of the river that has dried up.
So, now you can imagine the terrain. Its mostly sand. Uneven. But, don't expect a beach.
A Landcruiser can easily do the Palar. Do bring it. Do not worry. There is a Landcruiser 80 in the offroading gang here. And its never had a tough time.

Sounds good. I'm in!

Just that I was worried about deep mud and sludge (the palar "RIVER" bit threw me), which the 80 does not handle too well with AT tyres.

Gears,
Red-One.

There are sections in the river bed that are tough.

Just ensure you have a good set of AT tyres. There will be guys to give you instructions in case you have a problem in any section. The TPC is a nice way to explore the limits of your 4x4.

And gets lots of water!

Palar is around 60 kms from chennai after Chengelput.

Arka, Heres my feedback!

1. The photos in the image gallery are too too small. What happened to the hi-res ones?

Hi Guys,

Its a free website so we don't have too many options.

Please click on the pictures on the website to enlarge.

Nice pics there and definitely looks like some good off roading experience for folks who participated. Keep them coming.

Hi Guys,

A few naughty off-road pics from TPC2006 & TPC2007

Nice selections of pics Arka, What about for Jeep enthusiasts who dont have a Jeep yet? Any options ? Need volunteers? anyone need a untrained amature codriver?

IronWolf,

I think you could join without a jeep also.

Also, if you want you can join us in Bangalore for OTR's that the Bangalore Jeep_Thrills members go out for.

Just returned yesterday from the Coorg OTR.

Let me know and you can join me for the next OTR.

Cheers,
