Details here: Yahoo! Groups

Place: Tippagondanahalli.

If you have a 4x4, then bring it along. If you don't have a 4x4 but still would want to join, then also you are welcome. You can bring your car along and drive till the venue and leave the car there and hop into one of the jeeps and while coming back pick your car again.

mjothi, KHB is the Karnataka Housing Board on Magadi road. This would come after the junction where the a road diverts to 'Tumkur' Road. Ask anyone and you should be able to find it. Also, you will see a caravan of jeeps there so it will be hard to miss.

From CV Raman Nagar, I don't know what the best route will be. I am guessing that via city/fly over-mysore road then vivek nagar then Magadi road would be the best option.

NOTE/DISCLAIMER to all planning to join: Please join at your own risk.

To all you guys planning to organise events such as these have a liability disclaimer drafted by a lawyer and ensure all participants sign the document. Also ensure they have a valid driving license, insurance cover etc.

Just a way to make this all safe and secure in all aspects

PS Please don't permit minors to join in with ATV's unless their guardian issues a disclaimer.

Its best we ensure the organisers are not held liable in event of a mishap.

Fully agree DKG. all of us who for OTR know each other pretty well so this aspect is more or less an 'unstated fact' that each one of us knows about.
Incidents do happen in OTR's and there have been times where vehicles have broken down/been damaged during the OTR.

Because, I was announcing it to t-bhp, and making this avauilable for more folks to join and experience an OTR, I thought to mention the Disclaimer.

Am glad that you brought out and highlighted this aspect.

I realised the importance of this during the last Jeep Thrills event in Hyderabad where after all stages were complete a few offroaders went crazy trying to reverse climb a steep incline from within a water hole. There was a strong chance of the vehicles "overwheelie-ing" and falling on itself crushing the driver. I along with other spectators prevailed on the organisers to immediately stop the activity before an accident took place.

I noticed some drivers get over confident when they do all the stages successfully and think they are invincible. That's when accidents happen. More than anything such unfortunate incidents leave a bad taste for all of us and worse tarnish a event forever. So as organisers its only prudent you control all activity that day(s) and decide on what happens.

On their own if someone wants to drive off a cliff its their lookout!

PS A little prudence aside, wish you guys an awesome time over the weekend and look forward to pictures of the fun day out

Hi DKG, touch wood.. our bangalore chapter of jeep_thrills has sane members and a safety briefing is the first thing we do when we gather at the OTR spot.

If, very rarely, we notice that anyone is trying too hard, the fellow members stop the fellow jeeper then and there only. The good thing is that no one takes offense if someone stops some from doing some 'stunt'.

Having said that, there are times when some members do try silly things but they get shouted on like hell.. :-)

Wow, superb action shots. If I am not mistaken, both the red Willys (1968) and the Yellow MM440 (1988) belong to Jammy, he is the guy from whom I got my CJ340.

PS:Both are petrol Jeeps.

Yellow jeep is MM540 [The one in this action] and owned by Shravan.

Samurai, That 'yellow jeep of jammy' is a different one -- as we say in our group: "touch me and i will fall apart contraption" . And yes, I was discussing with jammy on your jeep and the fact that you are liking the jeep.

@mahesh: thanks for posting the pictures. Hope you like your experience of being part of an OTR. Hoping to see you in a 4x4 soon

Too bad that no one clicked pictures when my Gypsy was more than 3 feet in the air -- people were too busy trying to get out of the way and run for their lives.

Ok, I stand corrected.

BTW, what's the story behind the Tamilnadu license plate written in Kannada.
