Offroading in an Adventure

We took our adventure to Kudachathiri ( 40 kms from Mookampika at an altitude of about 3500 ft) a few years back. The jeep drivers were discouraging us telling that only jeeps will go there. That was an inspiration for us to take our car up there. Here are the pictures.

Hey, I know that place. I have been there on a fully loaded (4 people) M800 in the year 2000. Hit the bottom a couple of times and returned with a busted gearbox cover. Had to be towed to the nearest service center for a new oil cover (God bless the MUL for their network) and we were ready to go in about an hour!

Fantastic place, brought back nostalgic moments of the past!

That was a gutsy move, you can take 2WD to such trails, but 4WD comes in handy if you get stuck.

This place is in which state? We have similarly sounding place called Kodachadri, that is near Kollur ..er.. which is famous of it's Mookambika temple. Hmm, are talking about the same thing?

yup, this is the same place. We could do it since it was dry and also the adventure's ground clearance is pretty good

Cool. I too took my Adventure to Topslip and then to the elephant camp, where the department folks said it will be tough for cars. Not so for my Adventure. Well, I should also mention that there was an Ambassador that was going too, but very very slowly

It must have been adventurous for you to take your adventure at this place. How was the car behaved, any scrapping, etc. ?

The car was pretty okay since it has good ground clearance and also semi off road tyres. It is not a hardcore 4wd terrain.Although most of the taxis are jeeps, there are lots of sumos and qualis doing it in summer.
