Once Sree's jeep was out of slush, everybody started to "search" for the next hurdle. It was hot sun and we were boiling like anything in that Vijay's open jeep. May be Vijay also felt so I guess. So, we started to put the "cover" for the jeep. Once we are done, it was only Vijay's jeep and Sree's jeep over there. Everyone left.

Which way they left? No clue. So, started to drive back to the camp site and from there we could see some tops of the jeeps to our right. Ok, there are the guys. We both followed a differnet route and finally reached the crowd.

See what our friends are doing after reaching the heights.

Wanna know why such laughings? Ok, its because when I ask them to do a about-turn for pics, some forgot how to do a about turn, in left or right. he he he

Want to know why Dwarak is like that?
Offroading report - Pearl Valley 1/2nd Nov-dsc06195.jpg

Look at the following pictures. When he asked which way to proceed, each was showing hands in different direction, and hence he was putting his hands on the head I guess. Lol.

Then there was a steep and rocky path desending down. Dwarak found it little difficult to cross and so others started talking if its safe for safari to do this.

The further route was really bad.

One point it was very narrow and the rocks was sure to hit the side of the Safari.

But it did not stop our Hrag, he decided to go ahead. But mother earth is so strong, be it safari or JCB, it did hurt a little to the Safari.

The foot rest on both side was damaged a lot.

The next one was really the tough rocky terrain, where every jeep, safari and Gypsy struggled. I guess the only Gypsy that was in "steeroids" did it with little difficulty.

Contd...

Then we moved up towards a rocky slope. First the Gypsy guys made it with a lot of efforts. The rock was so tall and the route was also narrow. So, it was difficult to make it.

Rocks, rocks, rocks.

Next it was Siddarth's Gypsy. I guess his friend was driving it. He reached the spot and tried to take it to the top, but it got slipped and came down.

It was almost stuck on the rock with the wheels spinning in the air. If you notice the above pictures, you can see Mrs.Khan sitting in this Gypsy. But after all these she got down and walked.

Look at the mud splashing. Guys were trying to push it and finally it made it.

Next was Sunil's turn. He too had similar difficulty to get this done. The wheels was rotating by itself and after initial struggle, it made it. But yes without any human push

Next it was Vijays jeep. Look at it, taking "air" for cooling to take this easy.

Here comes our Vijay.
Offroading report - Pearl Valley 1/2nd Nov-dsc06236.jpg

When he was coming up, the jeep slided to the extreme right and it was almost like ready to fall down. Luckily, it didn't.
Offroading report - Pearl Valley 1/2nd Nov-dsc06238.jpg
Offroading report - Pearl Valley 1/2nd Nov-dsc06239.jpg

Then Hrag & Dwarak helped and guided his jeep to reach the spot in line.

This jeep was doing really good. It went at ease. Not so struggling. But it did hit a rock in the bottom and the exhaust went off. Thats when everyone started loving those "sound" from vijay's jeep
Offroading report - Pearl Valley 1/2nd Nov-dsc06240.jpg

Now, its preparation time for making Safari to reach the top. Since the rock was really tall, we decided to put some rocks around it to make sure Safari is not going to hit or get hanged on those rocks.
Offroading report - Pearl Valley 1/2nd Nov-dsc06241.jpg

We should really appreciate this person and other who came with Sunil. They were so helpful for all the jeepers to get to the spot. Pulling, rocking, pushing, tying the tows when in the slush, clearing the hurdles and everything. Special thanks to you guys.

Then, finally it did made it to the top.

Next it was Dwarak's Gypsy.
Offroading report - Pearl Valley 1/2nd Nov-dsc06259.jpg
Offroading report - Pearl Valley 1/2nd Nov-dsc06260.jpg
When his Gypsy was helped by guys, a rock hit one of the guy (in white t-shirt) in his leg. He does had a Shoe, but still he thumb got hit and the nail was bleeding. Did first aid, and he was ok.

Then we left for Bangalore. We thought ok, we are done and now we can have good lunch. But no, it was not. We had 2 punctures. First it was our Vijay's then on the way again Sree's Jeep (right?)

Then while returning, I could see Vijay keep on touching the engine bay to see if it was hot. I was so afraid if its going to be a problem. But it was not, then we were searching for the engine oil shop, got it and filled.

On the way, we could see other jeeps stopped in a junction near a Bakery. THe lunch time turned to a snack time. We had snacks and decide to say bye fro their to others.

While we were having snacks, a police came and asked us,
Police: whats happening?
Vijay and me : We went for a outing.
Police: Why all vehicles are so dirty.
Vijay: that is how it is suppose to be

I was not sure if police got it right, but murmered something and left.

One thing is sure. It was a lovely team. When we had so much hurdles almost everyones vehicle got stuck in some point or other, no one showed their face. Everyone was infact loving those moments. Its this like minded and frequancy that makes me not to miss any of the OTRs. Keep it up Guys.

On the way back, we were searching for a welding shop to get the jeeps exhaust fixed. But no luck. Searching and searching we reached koramangala.

Why koramangala? Becasue, thats where my lovely Aveo was parked. He he..

Jumped into my Aveo. Jeep to Aveo. Its when I realize how comfortable a car is and start it. How did I manage to travel in a open jeep in hot sun? But, each feels good in its own way good. Right guys?

Bye guys. See you soon again in the next OTR.

Good luck for the search. Our jeeps experts will guide you but if you are trying for the Gypsy look for the 1.3 king.

Yes mjothi, we are trying to get the 1.3 King itself.. We had a 1989 Gypsy 4x4, it was too good for farm drive, but the FE was always a concern... Did'nt like the way it behaved on highways...

Let me know if any 1.3 King is up for sale around..

Cheers,
