Thippagondanahalli OTR

Some pics from an old shepherd's in the the areas around TG Halli dam. We did the trip with one jeep with 3ppl.The area surrounding the village has numerous farms connected by cattle tracks and trails just about enough for a jeep to go through.

Hi Jammy ,

Terrain becons. Should we treat this as invite for next off roading?

Nice pictures of Savanadurga rock with sunset in background.

Nice 440

Jammy,
your 440 looks really great. Nice set of pictures.
Slightly off-topic: 1) what is the maximum size of tyre that can be fitted on the stock 440 rims without making the steering too heavy. You mentioned in another thread about 265/70/r16, but it will probably make steering quite stressful. 2) How much those half-doors cost you to fabricate.

It is nice to see our own M&M in typical offroading mode.
Wish I could tame those terrains someday too!

Cheers!!!

HI jammy,

Nice pics. Your MM440 looks good and the terrain is also rocky. I love the growl of your petrol engine. Heard it in one of the youtube videos. Just observed, your front right shakle got reversed in one of the pics. I see your jeeps suspension raised a bit too much leading to shakle reversal.

Let more pics roll in. :-)))

regards vinod

Hi
1>The maximum size of tire is 7.50x16.
2>The size I quoted was for Krishna's jeep which has undersized tires(sandgrips 7.5x16) on alloys rendering them useless in terms of sidewall flexing under load.
3> 265/70/r15 will actually work very well on the alloys he has on his jeep.
cheers

Hi Dwarak
We must explore the possiblity of camping out here sometime soon, the trail is good. The scenery fantastic. The birdlife for those interested in birding is really good. And we could also involve in some voluntary tree planting if we do go there.
What say this weekend?? what do you think guys.
cheers

Not this weekend as I will not be in Bangalore. Let's do it next week pleaseeeeeeeeee. It's been a very very long time since we went to TG-Halli OTR and camping would be a good idea.

Am game for the next weekend.

Cheers,

I had recently re cambered the suspension set up on my Jeep.I tried to put one wheel over a large rock about the hieght of the tire, however when i tried to powered up gently it kept sliding, at the end of the unsuccessful exercise I realised that the shackle had reversed, but nothing that a jack,2flat stones,2 screw drivers and some fiddling around did not fix.
cheers
