Jeepers,

We had covered the mountain route from Munnar to Kodakanal last day where we have decided to do the OTR on 13-14 Dec08.
The route is extremly good and challenging for a jeeper.
Our altimeters showed a height of 7700ft MSL and all the way the ranges were 4000ft to 7700ft.
The Anamudi mountain peak, which is the highest peak in South India and second to the himalayas, is nearby.
We can see the clouds below us. And the temp ranges from 15 deg during day and 5 deg at night.
Its once in a life time event. There will be Slush-Extreame gradients - river crossing - rock climbing everything is there in this route. If we are luck we can see Bisons- Sambars and other wild life enroute.
I tell you that none of our jeepers ( in SouthIndia) would have done such a route till date. Our Land Cruiser which is 4200cc with 4x4 was struggling in some areas.
Believe me, you all will have a great time. We have finalized on the night event at the TATA bunglows (Check the siteTea Meadows | Tea holidays and tours in India )

We need a lot of local support from the villagers and forest authorities to make the event safer.

We have arranged accomodation and food at the rate of Rs.2500 per Jeep.( 4 persons or 2 persons).

We request your active participation for the event and lets make it a great event.\\

Dear Jeepers,

Yes, the event is on, but most of us wont be able to attend this event, that's the reason it was more reasonable for us to have the second event in Jan

The main reason is that we would have more number of jeepers, secondly lot us are still not prepared with jeeps for this long journey,

& more over if the Mahindra GE is not happening in Jan is still fine for us as we will be able to have two days of offroading,

This way all the workers will have holidays from 23rd to 26th Jan,

Best Regards
Vinay thomas

Awesome. Some parts of the trail look like one can barely cycle through, let alone take a behemoth of a Landcruiser through! Amazing!
