Shouldnt one be deflating their tyres before taking it on sand?

But then maybe those tyres are meant for sand.

Mine has a 2.7 VVTi engine with auto, not sufficient but capable of doing some basic.

Wow! looks like you guys had some fun during the weekend Vikram.

The punctured tyre looks scray alright (imagining how hard it would be to change the tyres in sand and what happens if you get stuck with one alone) but in real-life, was it just another adventure?

You seem to have put on some weight ? the Holiday effect?

Changing the tyres were bit difficult in this monster Sriram, since i had 2 of my colleagues with me, somehow managed to do it, otherwise it will be one hell of a task.

Yes, i have put on some weight, thanks to the vacation .

so how do you change tyres in the sand ?

Does the sand offer sufficient hard surface to allow a Jack to be used ?

Or do you use other means to raise the vehicle and change tyres.

cheers!

Actually the pucture occured near to bit harder surface, so i moved the vehicle slowly to the harder area and then changed the tyres, also i had some wooden block which was bit helpful.

You have to keep a wooden board of at least 1.5 feet x 1.5 feet with you on which you can put your jack.

Lovely pictures of the desert. Arn't those huge dunes the ones off the Al Ain highway?

Do pls share your driving impressions of the car as many here would be looking forward to the Fortuner which hopefully should make its way to India by July 2009. Here apparently it would come with a 3 litre diesel. Do they sell the car with this engine option in Dubai?
