Hi Randeep

You dont need to own a 4x4 to come along. You need to get in touch with the MODs at Northern India Off-Road Club (NIOC) who arrange these events. Will PM you the contact details. Read the thread below for other Qs.

Cheers

Hey Randeep,

I will start at arnd 6:40 from Dhaula kuan. If you can manage till there, you can come along. I have to pick a friend from Dwarka and then will reach Sushant lok from where everyone will start together after a brief tea session.

Cheers!

It sure starts at 8am but we have to start from Sushant lok by that time! So I will start from my place at 6:40, reash Dwarka, pick my friend and reach Laxman's place by 7:30!

BTW, between you and me, realistically, I am taking 15 mins extra.

Same here, it was an experience!! But the best thing, we tamed it quite well.

One of the falls ( I would like to call it a 'fall') was something no layman can in the wildest of dreams think a vehicle can pass through. But we did it pretty easily. cheers:

Special thanks to Arjun for the amazing food and to make it look all so easy.

Pics will follow soon as I took them all in RAW mode and have to process them and convert in JPGs.

Keep watching this space people!

We left the trail around 3.30ish. It was amazing. Had a nice time. The only hitch was I was without a jeep. But hey, by observing other I am learning & can put all this into action when I am Jeep'ed (get my own set of wheels)

Great going guys. Looks like the jeeping scene in NCR is hotting up and winters is one of the best times for such outdoor action, combined with some cooking at the spot itself. In summers the blistering heat of Delhi will make OTR's a really tough outing.

A question to all the folks for whom this/the other NCR OTR was the first one:

Are you guys hooked on to it and do you think that off-roading is a 'one way ticket' and there is no turning back once you get to taste it?

Would join all you folks for an OTR outing if at some time I am in NCR region.

@khan
Man hooked is not the word. I thibnk that this OTR is like drugs. Once you get the taste of it, man man man theres no leaving it. And slowly and gradually it grows on you
The best thing that I ve ever done is buy myself a Jeep 4x4. And restoring it is an experience that a person cannot have when he's being handed over the keys at a showroom or anywhere else. And I am not just talking about army vehicles. Even when a person buys IInd and then gets it modified as per his requirement. this whoel process is mind blowing.

I read somewhere
As Boys get older
Their toys become expensive

. DRUGS.!!! That' exactly what I was hoping one would say. I have met very very few people who have NOT become 'addicted' to OTR's after they have tasted it -- either in their own jeeps or with their friends.

Great. Completely agree. With a jeep you develop a relationship by investing time & effort & pain & sweat & agony & ecstasy & joy etc..
That can't be had from a showroom car -- however expensive it may be :-)
