I was saying 4 low and 4 high, as in ratios.

High torque gear => 4 low => low ratio
Low torque gear => 4 high => high ratio.

LOL: Sometimes, there is just another way to look at the same thing, isnt it?

Wow, Lovely actions. I love those first 2 pics. Reminds me of Rudra's shot in the recent OTR near Sarjapur lake.

Missed the real fun

He he he. Exactly. You know this is what we were discussing in Munnar also, that by looking at the pictures someone will for sure say 'what great fun & action'.

After those 6 days on GQ with you, I can clearly imagine/visualize how you guys would have been discussing these

Wish one day I could stop saying and start feeling...

Samurai,

IVECO has come out with a formidable offroader, built for military purpose. Was tested in India and featured in Autocar few months ago. The design of Fiat Hummer Concept Oltre is very similar or probably same as IVECO.

But I guess it is still in concept stage, the pics & article is dated 1-Dec-2005.

Civilians can this too from the Iveco dealers after the launch.

Samurai:
As usual, a fantastic detailed narration with a superb set of pictures.

When are you planning to publish a book? Seriously, there are some guys in this forum with exceptional talent for writing who can easily publish books on "Travel & Trails"

This picture is hilarious - not just the question of dhotis (and not pants), but each and everyone of the dhotiwallahs have pulled up theirs in a typically Keralite style!

OT!

But the IVECO on the website looks extremely formidable! I just love the front...very old-school hot rod style! Fantastic. Are these already on sale internationally?

Actually that is very common, as I said before, my steering angle changed further after the OTR.

How Sharat, how does the steering angle change after an OTR?

I may not have used the right technical term, but see the last line in post #34.

This has to be the biggest joke of the century. In fact I was thinking of putting it in the 'official joke thread'.

Some guy has posted a report on the munnar MGE here:

Buy New Cars, Used Cars, Auto News and Reviews India - Zigwheels.com

Excerpts:

Quote:

Traversing over rocks that would rip an engine out of any other machine, these vehicles just rumbled on. Obstacles such as river crossings and steep slippery slush covered hair pin turns were taken with utter grace, thanks to the sheer off roading ability these vehicles possess. I was in mud bashing heaven.

....We were in no man's land, driving on terrain that resembles the moon's surface and yet it was just utter bliss. With differentials locked and the engine powering all four wheels there was literally nothing more one could ask for. It's an addictive high that leaves you craving for more. In fact off roading literally imbeds an unhealthy attraction towards mud and rocks.
Hey guys, all those who went to Munnar, did we do the right one or was there something else there ????

Oh man. I don't know if I should laugh, or feel sad or pity that guy or search for him and send an evening with him...
