Check these out. They're from Icon Auto in Al Qoz who are good and proper rip-offs, but you could take this design and get it made in Sharjah for about a 10th of the price. Ayoub's garage is owned by a large mallu group of machine shops who fabricate almost anything - you could ask him to arrange this for you.

Robbie makes metal bumpers for most offroaders too. He is less of a cut-throat compared to Icon or others, but still on the expensive side.

That's quite a nice bumper. I guess 4000 with fixing is not that bad considering its a decent looking bumper. I remember the ones used by Arabian Adv were crude flat plate based bumpers. This one seems to have contours similar to the original piece

See the pictures below from Toyota - genuine accessories from Australian dealers:

The first two are the types I would comfortably go for - but so far couldn't find any in Dubai/Sharjah. These cost about the same as ICON's in Australia. The third one is a heavy duty steel stuff comparable with the ARB's.

I kind of like the third one with the dull black matt finish, if you get that in Dubai its not a bad option GT. Also it seems to have been designed with a winch in mind, and sharper approach angle

Won't make it this weekend. Will have to be at home this weekend.

And Giri, check out ebay for the bumpers. You might get something which fits your budget. You could also do what Ayub was suggesting - cut the bottom half of the current bumper and replace it with steel. And add a bull bar to it. Not sure how feasible it is though.

That one will weigh at least 100 kgs; adding weight is not a good option for deserts - which is why I was saying that I would prefer one of the first two options.

That is probably what I will end up doing. I still have to be careful not to get into any problems with the warranties.

Let me get my new bumper to get my registration renewed next month; and then I will have to do something before the new one also gets bashed up.

Great to see you all have a good time 9 and safe ) in the desert. It was great to see pictures of my old guys, Sikandar, Junaid, Saeed and others among the vehicles I could identify.

emarat4x4 is a gentlemems family oriented off road club that holds trips every weekend ( Friday & Saturday for Dubai ).

It was started by me as dubaidesertclub.com in early 2007. We had a most sucessful season where we held 2 rallies and launched the FJ Cruiser and Landcruiser 200 with desert test drives for Toyota.

Later, in late 2008, when with my business compulsions I had to shift to Indian, the club was transferred to Mr. Qaiser Naqvi. He renamed it as emarat4x4

It has grown Mashaallah. Fifty cars on a trip is great. When I left Dubai in August last year we had only 278 members. How many are there now ?

Yes dubaidesertclub was affilated to Emirates Motor Sports Federation. We did all our Fun Drives and Vehicle launches under their permission. I will ask Mr. Qaiser Naqvi to continue the good relations with Ms. Roshanara Seth of EMSF.

Have fun guys. I do miss the desert a lot. But we are doing some off roading here with Northern India Offroad club.

Best regards

Shahid
