The driver of that H2 is Kashmir Singh, who is in the 'extreme' category. He swears by the H2, everyone else swears at it but he is a bloody good driver.

The H3s were really panting on the way up, I suspect they were the lower specced ones.

The F150 is okay, he did get stuck a few times too but Arshad is a good driver and his wife is equally good at off-roading too.

Vivek (islandman on tbhp) did a damn good job despite being a newbie, I am told. The guys were very impressed by the way he went about his business.

Me, I got stuck twice (the second one was a really stupid mistake - stopped before a drop and my front tires dug in good and proper) and did about half a dozen recoveries. I had a heating issue too, driving for too long up a few slopes on what I thought was 4H, but was 4L. Lost a lot of coolant.

We were all around trying to figure out what was up - didn't bother to take any pic of the 'Defender smoking after the high'

In hindsight it was pretty stupid of me to try and climb that section with the a/c on - not once but twice. The first time we made it to the top, there was this stupid Fortuner coming down the same path despite seeing us push hard at the summit. So we had to reverse, get back to the bottom and climb all over again!

were there any marshals to control the drive?

Dippy, trust me, that H2 is amazing on the dunes. Kashbhai (owner of H2) was driving it over the dunes with the steering in one hand and a paratha roll in the other. I was in the H2 with him when he was doing it. And he suddenly went over a 90 degree drop which had me shocked for a few seconds. It is an amazing vehicle inspite of the 3.7L engine.

The H3 is a different story all together. It was struggling big time. Probably 'cos the driver was a newbie. But still it looked like it lacked power to tackle the big dunes.

The youngest driver in the group - all of 13 years.

And I can safely say that this young chap was as good as (if not better than) a lot of the intermediates. From what I've heard, in the trip prior to this, the kid was recovering a lot of the vehicles stuck in the sand.

Could you find out and let me know the cost of the rear brake lights and the antina shown in the below pic. Its just a request, as and when you visit the accessories and parts shop just please find out the cost.

H2 is powered by 3.7L engine? are you sure?

3.7 as far as i know is on the H3. H2 is powered by a 6.2-litre, 393 ps V8 engine.
