We decided to come out of this terrain and try other areas too. So we headed back. Then we visited the Bikers dirt track, where the SWB CL340 had a good time againt the MWB Gypsy which couldn't try the climbs and slops made for bikes.

With that we end first phase of the OTR. Yes till now only half the fun. The second phase was equal fun.

BTW The daal and baati were not for us.. Our brunch is going to be at the hill top.. contd...

Will say again what people above have mentioned. The terrain thet you have there is FANTASTIC. Just Superb. One can do off-roading whole day there..

This is where you realize the benefit of traction and the difference between an open diff and Locked diff through PSD/Lockers. If one has lockers, than this is very much doable.

100% True. It's just a matter of time before many more people will be joining you on OTR's.

The only way the MWB Gypsy will do this is through a lift

Right and your devil has that GC now..

Our second phase was equally interesting. We came out back to the highway and now entered from a different side. This time we had a soft road which first took us to a temple on foot of hills. From that temple the soft road took a narrow turn and we decided to proceed on the same. It took us right in the middle of forest and between two layers of mountains. It is a perfect track for high speed soft road rally. The stretch was at least 3 to 4 kms and it was beautiful. Climbed and came down several hills, saw wild life etc.

That soft road took us to another big temple. From there we came to know that there was a reserved area on top of the hill built by some king of Jaipur some 150 years back. One call from Anukraman and we got permission to go there..

Saw these panther pug marks and hyena pugmarks on the road.

The hill had a steep climb of around 800 mts and in no time we reached its top.

Now that we were on top of hill we took our brunch..

From the top we got to see magnificent view of Jaipur and jungle, which we couldn't imagine to be so close to our houses.

The Gypsy was having such a nice time that it didn't want to go out. Its gear stuck in neutral. Our great Alfa jumped to the occasion, he was fully loaded with his tool. I was surprised to see so many tools coming out from his pockets..

Nice to see your red Jeep and Anukraman's Gypsy in actions. Hope to join you guys there someday. Do let me know about your plan for the next OTR. If planning something around Ajmer that would be more great. Perhaps around Pushkar we can do something. Or simply ask to Anukrman who is a master mind in off roading routes. He did identify some new routes for rallies.

This was my first OTR and definately would not be the last. The best part was that apart from the offroading the day had lots of other things like, exploring a new place very close to the house, wild life, being chased by the forest officials, taking permisiions over the phone and that to on a Sunday, lovely brunch in a 150 year old watch tower and the towing bit.

Perfect way to spend a sunday

@ DesertKing: Sorry for delay in reply. I will be out of town for this weekend (giving vacation bribe to family..) By next week Alfa's jeep will also be ready, we can certainly plan out something together. Earlier we had planed to go and explore Galta side on Agra road.

Next OTR in Jaipur planned for Sunday 19th April. Explore and extend the river bed trail starting from manoharpur and comes out on agra road.

Confirmed people are:

1) Anukraman : Gypsy
2) Yogesh : CL340
