Satnam,

Harjeev and I might just plan a trip to Dabwali as he wanted to find original Jeep seats from there. So not yet planned but might just go.

Jeeps from the Hisar cant. all go to the Central Vehicle Depot (CVD) in Delhi.

Cheers !!!!!!!

@Ankit
Its always a pleasure!!!

@WILLYS_MB
sarvinder sir, It would have been great if you too could accompany us to the event. Would have been great?

@Randeep
Bring it on!!!
As long as there a 6x3 feet place to sleep on, its ok with me... Looking forward for the OTR.
Only problem is that I still do not have my CJ3B, and will get it by this weekend. But still Ii would like to drive and get accustomed to it before driving it for OTR's and that too outstation. Better to be safe and the Mayapuri guys are saying thursday or friday, but small small tings take a lot of time, so I might get this coming monday or tuesday...
Fingers crossed...

@Tusker
Try to make it buddy. If you cant come on friday come on Saturday and be back the same evening with us...

@Satnam & Randeep
RB sir gave me some numbers of some guys in Dabwali. What well do is call them up from Hissar and if they have something them a visit to Dabwali can be surely planned

Harjeev, if you want to drive a Cj3 B take mine.

I wont be able to make this trip. I have to go to Patna tomorrow, my elder brother is contesting the parlimentary elections and filing his nomination on the 9th.

There will be quite a show with over 100 SUVs, 100 Motorcycles, horses, elephants and a band in waiting! such are Indian elections.

I will reach Delhi only on the night of Apr 10 by the late Jet Airways flight landing in Delhi about 11 PM.

Hi Satnam,

Yes if we go to Dabwali we would be going through Fatehabad, Sirsa and then Dabwali. The most amazing road from Sirsa onwards.

Cheers !!!!!!!

@desertfox
Thanks for the offer Sahid! It means alot.
I do not mind driving a vehicle if the owner is around, but taking the vehicle all alone is a big responsibility.
But a BIG THANKS anyways!!!

Satnam, I do not think that we will be able to do the Dabwali trip on this OTR as Dabwali is approx 170kms one side and should take anywhere around 3 hours one side!!! So its 6 hours worth or driving and another couple of hours in the market.
And our schedule is quite tied up.
So Dabwali is definitely on the cards, but maybe on a later visit.

Harjeev,

As we had planned earlier, if you actually want to visit Dabwali we could stay back on saturday in Hissar and go early morning. Infact the Dabwali on sundays is a Jeep haven. Sunday market lots of jeeps come there for sale.

It could be considered, what says?

Cheers !!!!!

What exactly are you looking for in dabwalli? Theres nothing there except cheap metal stuff. Yes, a few shops do deal with replacement parts from jeeps, like saets, jerrycan racks, gun racks and stuff, but they charge you a dime too much than other places.
Besides, theres nothing that you would'nt be able to find in mayapuri either.

Dear Jeepers,
...... We are also trying to organise some slush.
......
With regards,

RB
If by organizing slush RB meant these untimely showers than I must say he has some very high connections!!
Earlier I was tempted to comment how does one organizes slush. I'm glad I kept mum.

cheers

What RB Sir ment by organizing slush was to get the tubewells switched on and pump water onto the tracks at our farm.

Cheers !!!!!!!!!

Neither - a bit off topic but my Brother Mehboob ALi Qaiser is contesting on a Cong. ticket fro Khagaria, our village which is 160 km from Patna. Patna is only the airport from where we commute.

Well it was quite an affair ! Almost like holding five weddings together in the house.

Well wish him all the best from me.

I am not sure if it is still the case but previously MPs, MLA's etc used to get preference for army disposals at favourable rates from the Delhi depot (RS 28,000 for a vehicle according to a 2007 post on the indiansforguns forum).
