Devarabetta-New TG Halli for off-roaders (Revisited)!!!

Man, do you love to drive on rocks, check your articulation of your jeep, or just want to use your own 4WD (hehehe, crawling down), you have it all in Deverbetta.

Last Saturday we all went to Deverbetta. We? Who are in this "we"?

Well here is the list,

1. Dwarak,
2. Khan_Sultan & co
3. Star_aqua & myself
4. Thirumala and his friends
5. Vijay
6. Siddarth
7. iceman & rudra

If last time it was Beetle, this time it was the Baleno. Yes, it reached till the lower camp of Deverbetta. Iceman wants to try Khan's Gypsy and hence he parked his Baleno down. Man, I know you were so sad for not able to try your Baleno. its ok, next time

The main idea was to test Dwarak's Gypsy (Oops, I guess it still has Gypsy Chasis and Dashboard. So, we can call it a Gypsy!!!).

Here are some snapshots. More to follow soon

If you see through Rudra's eyes, this is what you get (Ofcourse not good pics as his, but good subject)

Morning 6:30am on 19th April, we meet up at IIM-Bangalore in Banerghatta road. Left from there to Jigani. Had breakfast there. It was so nice that I am sure no one will ever try it again in there. Cold Idly, with Chuttney straight from freezer

Then it was a fun drive from there. We need to stop for 3 to 4 times due to the flimsy tube (in the outlet of oil filter) that was often busting in Dwarak's Gypsy. Finally we decideded to bypass the filter and take it through to by pass those flimsy tube.

You need to take the Pearl valley route and keep continuing straight after that right which we usually take for the valley.

The roads are nothing to be worried about. Because you were on JEEP. Its so narrow that 2 vehicle passing would be very tough. You cross the TN boarder and roads are wider and ok. After couple of KMs take a right to the village.

Its around 5-6KMs inside. The whole village was watching us like anything. You know why? Probably they thought there was some VIP / Politician coming there for canvasing. Yes, see it yourself. Baleno with the pilot and escorts around it.

We reach the temple. Baleno is parked and we are ready to start the off-roading.

It was then we see our Isuzu Gypsy missing. It was taken to the shade for changing the front tyre. It was puncture. Me, Siddarth and Iceman went to help him out. The moment we are done, we turn back and find no one there. All left, except for Siddartha's Gypsy.

Then I get into Siddu's Gypsy and iceman in Dwarak's. Siddu (or was it his gypsy?) did a excellent climbing with several "S" bends on teh rocky terrain.

We wait and wait for next Gypsy, but could not see it comming. We park the vehicle and come back to see. Dwarak's Gypsy was not able to take that rocky terrian with those S tunrs etc. Several tries but failed. May be it had huge tyres but lighter body. Everytime it hits the rock, the rear of the vehicle was on air.

Devarabetta-New TG Halli for off-roaders (Revisited)!!!-img00308.jpg

One more we noticed is that his tyre are big enough to scrape the body. guess it should be taken care.

Then Siddu tried , but still could not. So, decided to take on a different path and reached. Then a interesting spot. Two tress next to next and in between was the track.

Guys anyone has that pic please post it, I dont have them. It was like, will it go or not go. So narrow. After crossing we see a huge rock in the way and Khan's gypsy parked after that. We also see other 2 jeeps over there with one trying to take the alternte path.

Later found that ONLY khan's Gypsy was able to make thae huge rock climbing.

Then we all targetted the temple on the top of the rock. We had so much fans for Khan's Gypsy. no, not the usual t-bhpians, but the new comers from the village. So much claps, whistle for his drive on to the mountain.

He was followed by Vijay. Vijay to had good claps and he was all happy showing his Thumbs up as a successful rally guy

Then it was Rudra's turn with his machine. Yes, he guides Vijay to park his vehicle in a manner he want that to be shot and takes some moments to capture it.

Same for Khan's gypsy too. Those are the pics you saw in the first post. But you need to wait for Rudra to process and post those picture to know the real essence of that.

Didn't shoot much. It was too hot for my brain to work properly. Few are there in Auto Image thread. Given Khan's Gypsy a new name. I'll call it SPIDER.

IMO dwarak's gypsy isnt getting enough suspension travel , the 235's end up fouling with the bodywork very easily.

awesome ! looks like the front axle has popped out.

P.S Khan has your gearbox mounting issue been resolved?
