Headers,
The other day i had an opptunity to drive MDi3200 equipped Cj500d in city with 4 speed GB. This vehicle had Maxxis trepedor tyres and amused me a lot. Was a lot more easy to drive in city , steering was light and engine had lot of torque. Its then i understood why M&M and its customers swears by that engine alike.

Coming to off road, this section looks different. Mahindran's MM540 HT and sanjay davids MM540 XD with sand grips looked good. NDMS 700 16 looked more macho though

Over heating might be an issue for sure. I just changed my radiator to 4 core. Lets see in next recee if it helps!

LOL @ Octaneoverdose: What are you trying to imply? Gather volunteers for the event or more publicity?

Cheers

+1 - To start off with we had to endure through the signature palar sand and sun which was pretty much represented by Arka's satanic smile when he first got a glimpse of the terrain in the morning. If anything, the day was a mild trailor to what the event has in store. With engines overheating and tyres sinking into powder soft sand, you cant overlook the question - Is is harder on the man or the machine?

The quarrying has definitely brought about a certain degree of challenge besides what is already existent. This would definitely be a boon for the organizers but a bane for the participants. All in all a tough session but knowing the standards that the event has set, it was only a teaser.

Guess what really makes the event this tough is the level of endurance required by both man and machine to survive through the day. Makes me wonder how much tougher is it gonna get this year.

Hi Guys,

Everyday the participants are expected to drive 10-15kms on the river bed and cover 10-15 Special Stages.

This event is about team work and individual vehicle preparation and late night partying.

Hi Samurai,

Personally I don't like the placement of the Hi-Lift jack in Sanjay's Jeep. The reason is

1. You may damage the area while taking out and fixing Hi-Lift jack in an emergency situation. Since it is placed horizontal position you need to drag it from either direction.

2. They are heavy and handling it above 4ft height impractical and again this will add up the damages to the area it is fixed

My Suggestions:

As I've also got a Hi-Lift jack (48" all cast), I would like to find a permanent place on my Classic. Now we both stand on SWB Jeep category, I don't know what size is your Hi-Lift jack. Even the 4ft or 48" Hi-lift jack don't have space inside our body tub.

I always think that we need to retrofit an additional plate(platform) to hold the high lift above the rear bumper right hand side without touching the tail lamps. There could be one more holder setup with lockable hinges to protect the Hi-Lift jack getting stolen or unauthorized removal.

Since this will enable the hi-lift jack to stay vertical position and only maximum of 2ft above the ground level, the handling of the hi-lift jack become easy in an emergency.

I think similar setup has been done with SwasticViji MM540.

Since the recovery stuffs are going to be used in emergency situation, access to those tools should not have any hindrance. Ask yourself "Looks or Purpose"
