| ![]() So as you can see after the 4x4's had a go, the 2x1 decided to do a run. Then the long wheel base gave up on others who wanted to try the pit, the other way around. Its more fun this way. Anyways help was just a call away and she is winched out after some quick swap of remote cables. star_aqua decides to raise the bar and in he goes ![]() After that the elusive but BUTCH off a scorpio makes a dash, that vehicle is capable without those stupid front bumpers! Followed by Rudra's favourite jeep! She is a beuty and Sandeep (owner if am not mistaken) is a lucky man, what engine is she running? Isuzu? |

| ![]() Now the 4.6 liter beast decides to take a ride and she clears the obstacles as if it was just another ride in the park. Auto tranny is amazing and shows the technology prowess missing in our indian offroad vehicles. Be it forward or reverse, she just chews and spits out the terrain, like your friendly neighborhood paan walla ![]() We decide to move on, to the inside pit and i show the way walking to the LR and RR. I knew they would feel more at home here. If not for the long wheel base and expensive bumper's the duo would have really been the show stopper's of todays outing. 3 cheers to the gentlemen who were brave enough to take these machines to the OTR! Closing shots of Sandeep who has mastered this second pit by now and decided to challenge happy_wheels @ high jump. There were many camera's today and request others to post up and fill the gaps in my coverage ![]() |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() Thats one amazing OTR you guys had. Looks like the Shutter bugs could not keep their lenses off the Rovers. MMs took a back seat to all the attention eh? Mudzillas and other Mud tires seem to be on almost all these 4WD vehicles? 4WD Scorpio + Mud Tires - Bumpers = mean looking offroader. That Scorpio has given me a whole new respect for the 4WD. Bumpers should not bee part of the factory 4WD version. Looks like it has an amazing approach angle now. Some one please post pics of the Scorpios rear as well. |

BHPian ![]() | ![]() It was definitely a fun OTR. The RR and LR owners enthusiasm must be appreciated - they wanted to try out all the existing routes (and try some new ones). Sunil's Gypsy ( Blue with SOA ) was the surprise package as it did all the obstacles with ease ![]() Well over to the other shutter bugs - come-on guys there were lots of cameras taking photo's - post them soon Cheers GB |

![]() I don't know about the estimate as of now. It should not be more than 5 if we do not change any parts but will cost around 18k-20k if I need to change the bumpers (+ paint). I don't want to change the bumpers at this point of time. Actually I thought that the safari's performance was pretty decent. Since this was my first OTR, I thought that if there was a better driver than me (hrag), I don't think that I'd have had any damage (except the foot rest). | ![]() Unfortunately Rudra and me were on the other side and couldnt capture much, spectators coming in between was a major issue. Still i just shot as much as i can. On the other hand MM's were outnumbered with Gupsy's yesterday lol Quote:

My F-Head ran beautifully throughout the day until it suddenly stopped cranking almost at the end of the OTR. After much effort to start it by pushing, there was fear that the engine had seized. This happened when the Jeep was idle and the temp had been normal all day, and there was no cause for a major failure. Besides, a similar thing had happened about 3 months ago, where the culprit was the bendix on my starter that had jammed into the flywheel. So, after towing my Jeep to a Dhaba close by and enjoying a hearty meal, Sunil and his mechanic removed the starter at the parking lot of the restaurant and we were able to start it with one push! I was then able to drive back all the way home with the starter off. Phew!! I had changed the bendix last time this happened and re-aligned the starter. But it appears that I don't have the original starter with the right flange and hence the alignment is off. I am now on a search to find an original/more suitable starter. Anyways, the OTR was a lot of fun and SVSantosh, myself and other Newbies had a great time.. Double thanks from me too.. to Star_Aqua, Sunil, SwastikViji, Shakir Ahmed, Dwarak, Gypsyboy and others who helped tow me back & fix the issue!! ![]() | |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() Bangalore offroaders, Thanks for providing us the sight of so many 4x4's at one glance!! Was actually sick of seeing of jeeps and Gypsys every where. Scorpio without bumpers and with those mudzillas was looking awsome. I expect more pics of it. Landrover brothers were a welcome sight! The best part was i saw new set of 4x4's this time along with the regular ones. I only wish it had rained a little more to have a more wheel spins! Keep it happening all the more guys!
