Hope some Mumbai Pajero owners go along and share the route with us

Other information:

1. Will start from The Parks, Navi Mumbai on 6th September ’09 around 10: 45 am

2. About 40 Pajeros’ are expected to participate.

3. 50 kms of intense off-road and extreme driving which includes dirt roads, river beds, slushy hills, sandy plains and a bit of tarmac here and there.

4. If any breakdowns occur the service Team from Mitsubishi Motors will be readily available to provide assistance and offer useful driving tips along the way. The drive will culminate at the same flag-off venue around 3:00 pm. Lunch will be served for all participants.

Since Shrikant Karani is the organiser, a fantastic event is guaranteed! He's the one behind the good ol' (tough) great escapes of yesteryear.

Why are you leaving Pune out?
This is the first time I am seeing a Pajero event this side of the country, and of all the dates picked it has to be the one on which my daughter is having her birthday brunch at our place! Damn!
I am going to see if I can wriggle out of that, so how do I get to know more about this? Navi Mumbai is practically next door these days!!
PS: When was the last such Pajero event held??

The term heart-in-Mouth triggered a memory.

https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/4x4-e...bangalore.html (Pajero Heart-in-Mouth Xperiance, Offroad Event, Bangalore)

So don't have high hopes.

Remember what the rains did to the Silvasa Great Escape, Samurai. The last week has given Mumbai it's share of rainfall. Plus, good way for some Pajero owners to start with offroading.

Pajero in Slush is failure and i have seen live in Munzerabad trail, if driver is Pro offroader then pajero has chance to clear slush otherwise winching.

Nice, short and sweet verdict!
Why though? Are the tyres the issue? Or is it the weight/power ratio? What is it about the Gypsy that allows it to be a lot more successful in relation to the Pajero, in your view?

From my seeing experience in Slush terrain I can say the reason
1)Weight
2)Tyre
3)Driver skills

In the last photo almost all vehicles cleared that obstacle but pajero was struggling to cross.

In slush Pajero cannot even come closer to Gypsy performance offcourse there are reason.

That's nice to hear! Seriously. Getting stuck in an OTR rocks. That shows the chosen terrain was more than a match for the machine, and is a heck of a learning experience as well.

True. And where else can one get a chance to do this surrounded by a support system?

Getting stuck is fun and you will have all answer about LSD, centre diff etc.. . Seriously you need to participate then only you will come to know pros and cons of Pajero.
