PICS : Mhape (Mumbai) offroading on 30th August 2009

Some pictures of the Mhape fun

Just the start. By the time the Paj got mid-way, its bonnet scoop was drinking water

Nice spot. You can see Mr. Schwarzenegger trying to gauge the depth of the water using a branch. 4 foot branch goes in and he says "wanna drive through?"

This guy was clearly having a blast

Awesome spot. Basically, it was a V shaped crevice, and we were driving on the sidewalls of the gap. Even caught a fat green snake here.

Beefed up after the workout

Has got to be the only Range Rover in the country, driven through 4 feet of water and 2 feet of muck. The rear winch is attached to the yellow Jeep which had a fuel delivery issue

How high is the air intake on a Pajero GTO? That scoop is for the intercooler right? I'd hate to think about the serious damage caused if water enters the air intake - you are talking about an entire engine rebuild !!

Great Pics GTO. Where is this place MAHAPE in Navi Mumbai. It looks very sceneric and good track for offroading. Is it Kharghar or nearby. Which exit we need to take.
Do you have plans for this Sunday also?

Cool place for an OTR! Seem to be great fun in the lap of nature. The mumbai gang seems to have gone "hyper tyres", GTO where are new deadly shoes for your jeep? Haven't decided yet?

Rahul, hat's off to you man. Flying all the way to mumbai for the OTR. Quite an inspiration!! It gives good feeling about bonding of offroad community and also good in way of experiencing different group and their style.

PS: (from my wife, sitting nearby as I am working on her comp.)- Rahul do not give such inspirations to other bhpians... because crazy people catch crazy ideas very fast.

I - lol.

You can say that again, Deepak. None of us got into any trouble, and lady luck probably had a role to play in that. The bonnet of my Jeep was near 100% submerged in the water. The orange 550 was the only one running a snorkel. First thing after this patch, I popped the bonnet open to check on the air intake.

Hi Crazy4power, take the Airoli road when driving into New Bombay (going North). At the next couple of junctions, stick to the signs pointing toward Thana. About 5 kms down, you'll see a large board with Mhape gaon marked on the right. Its just a coupla meters down there.

Will PM you for the next trip we planning.

@GTO>> I got your message the next day since I was in transit. But I hope to join anything happening later this month.

Coming to the point. Im sure it was super slippery driving through all that grass patch. Any serious traction issues...?

Awesome OTR guys! Few jeeps, super terrain, great weather!! What more do you need?

GTO - agree with the Allan comment.

Allan buddy - are you a fan of Mallika Sherawat? Clothes get smaller with every consecutive OTR (movie).

Cheers
Ankit

We - except for the two Jeeps on Mudzillas - were all over the place.

Small world man. Yup, we had a short regroup stop at about 730ish on the eastern express highway. How could you miss the offroaders wearing Team-BHP stickers? Next time, holla!
