Actually I was thinking why I'm not fining any travelogue from you in recent times in the travelogue section. Now I know where to look for. Would really love to be part of off-roading expeditions, just for the photography. And infact my idle devilish mind already started thinking about ways to get a Gypsy ;-)

Samurai San, This is undoubtedly one of the best travelogues in a very long time.

Travel to OTR spot, OTR report and return shots. Its like we were riding shotgun with you.

Lovely looking pics. Am looking forward to join you guys the next time you'll go to this location. Someone do remember to PM me.

Also very informative on OTR techniques

Thanks for sharing!

Where are the pics and reports from the others??

Samurai, great experience written in a great way. I like the way you tell the story. It contains a lot of info and learning material inside, but never gets boring. Your freestyle writing is very effective and gripping.

The techniques you described can be very effectively applied on any slippery surface, may that be mud, ice or snow.

Thanks for sharing this great experience. It even inspires a non off-roader like me to get a 4X4.

Moment I read your comment about ice and now, I instantly remembered where I learnt the technique. It was not recent, I was first shown this technique in December 1993 when I first encountered snow and didn't know how to drive in snow and ice. It was taught by 2-3 colleagues and I don't really remember their names anymore. Since I drove in 9 NJ winters, those techniques came in very handy. I again started using those techniques while offroading but couldn't remember how I knew it. Thanks for bringing back my memory.

fully pressed clutch, gas the engine to a good RPM, release the clutch suddenly hence you have a sudden start and zoom to top of the hill.
Make sense?

Thanks

You mean this thread is the blog? I consider this as a discussion forum, not a one person rant. My opinion of blogs: https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/shift...tml#post263619 (Whats the deal with Blogs?)
