| Here are the promised pics. Shams gives the participants a small speech during Pre-event Briefing. Also on stage are Hari Singh, myself, Mrs. Balwani hidden behind me and Madhav Nene.  Mrs. Balwani flags off the event flanked by Hari Singh and I'm given the responsibilty of leading the convoy of 54 jeeps in Car no. 1.  The cars exit the Taj Deccan  42 kms later, all the cars line up at the entrance to the Narsapur forest trail. And I say to the driver, "The ambulance should be parked there".  And we're off onto the trail. And the first set of rocks welcome us.  Different cars choose different lines thru the small slush patch. Attachment 201410 Just a break; not a break down! Attachment 201411 Saliq Nawab's shocking green Jeep being driven by his son. Attachment 201412 Bharath Reddy Attachment 201413 Abinav Nukala Attachment 201414 Saliq Nawab guides the trio of Scorpios behind him. Attachment 201257 Attachment 201258 Suresh Manikonda and Keshav Attachment 201259 Attachment 201260 The Jeep Thrills, Hyderabad gang of Shams, Saliq Nawab, Bharath Reddy, Dr. Barkat, Keshav and Prashanth were instrumental in identifying the route. The Scorpio and Bolero being guided thru the deep ruts by Mahindra personnel. Attachment 201269  The No. 15 Scorpio comes thru a thick patch.....  ....driven by the senior-most participant of the day.  Yet another Scorpio  Suraj Naidu negotiates a rock in his regular cool and casual composure.  Looking to see where they've been.  Scorpio spins wheels. The woes of 2WD.  .....stuck. Help! | Stream crossing starts.     Gurpreet dunks it in.  Hari is not happy. The right way to do it is without a splash.  And then Hari sees this.  And Gurpreet is pardoned.  Next stream..... Gurpreet does it again with Hari hanging on for dear life.  And gets it stuck.  No amount of weight distribution by Hari gets it free.  So the boss takes the wheel.  ....gets it out,  and ferries it across.  |

| At last, some of them are doing it right.   And some still enjoy splashing about   Naresh Bhonsle calms the drivers at a critical spot and guides them thru safely.  Now poses for a pic with Dr. Barkat.  A rare sight to see.... Our photographer par excellence, P. Anil Kumar on the other side of the camera. "A pic with 'The man', Naresh Bhonsle, shouldn't be missed", he said.  Doc upto some 'monkey business'   And he is not alone  |

| My Jeep's left headlight had gotten dirty. So I decide to wash it off.   The insides have gotten dirty too. So we pause to let the water in.   We're full. So we can proceed now.   And the last step of the entire procedure is to let the water out.   My partners in crime... Roozbeh, Dr. Barkat and Aamer.  It's time for the master to wade in.  And he comes thru with a fierceness in his eyes.  The master, Hari Singh is happy at the end of it.  ....while the occupants in his Jeep seem to be scared out of their wits.   Doc brings in the sweep car.  Together with James and Mahesh,  they diligently sweep up the forest   ....to leave it as virgin as it was when we entered it.  The team that made it happen. | Mazda - amazing pictures and well written captions to go along. I just relived the moment again!  I thought the whole Mahindra team did a fantastic job of organizing the show and guiding the vehicles through the tracks. Ofcourse they were ably assisted by people like yourself and the rest of the Jeep Thrills Hyderabad gang. Loved the pictures of giving the Jeep a wash. Brings new meaning to the phrase "car wash" (The 4WD owners should read it as - Let's play ). |
