The first convoy of Gypsy's went further in to the valley using a stream bed. The bed becoming progressively narrow but lead them to head of the valley surrounded by high rock walls on all sides. Here over period of time wind has deposited lots of sandon the western wall making it in to a sandy slope.
Although not as much but it did offer options to try out sand surface driving and find out how difficult it can be to "climb" in sand. From the area pictures posted above you can see that the entire area was opens and offerred lost of possible places to do varying level of off road driving and terrain challenges. Each of these was tekn one at a time by the group and so it gave continuous opportunity to observe, learn and help. Roles changed at drop of hat from driver to navigator to audience to pusher.
As the pictures show there was laughter and smiles a plenty.

Wow, the scorpio 4x4 mHawk is a micro hybrid! I never noticed that. So every time you stop and wait for others, the engine turns off... cool!

The second convoy lead by Adil and Raj moved hardly 100 meters from the base when they were face with a wall of a coffer dam. The slope looked dangerous and difficult. That was just the invitation for all 4x4 guys to have a go at it.
The dam anchor slope was most (ab)used and had a "lip" on top which beached many vehicles. If the SUV did not have enough speed to jump over the lip at top it was beached with wheels hanging on either side. Tow lines was used to pull the beached vehicles.
The dam wall proved to be irresistible for many and they kept on at it till they either conquered it or the vehicle almost gave up on them with clutch heat up and slippage. Maximum pictures were taken here.

MAN!!! This was one terrific event!!! I wish I would have been there! Congrats to all for organising this event!!!

Next time make sure that you have place for an extra 4x4, but I don't have a 4x4 SUV, so will have to just come in my old jeep!!!

That is some rally style off-roading in there :-) GREAT to see pictures of a Gypsy with all 4 in the air and some superb photography.

What shocks is that Gypsy having there? I think stock shocks would have landed the driver with broken bones.

Good to see the 4x4 scene expanding in NCR region. Would love to join you guys in an OTR when i visit Delhi for my vacations later this year in December.

PS: never knew that Scorpio 4x4 also came in the micro hybrid version. that's cool -- an eco friendly off-roader.
