Not so Live Report: Bangalore Annual OTR, Avalakondu 24-25 Jan 2010!

Well as the title suggests, since the mobile/cell coverage was bad Team BHP couldnt do the live update coverage planned earlier. Jaaaast kidding.

All i can say, Day 1 was great! and kudos to people who participated and Jeep Thrills who organized this event.

I don't have the energy to write a detailed report right now, so will leave you all with couple of shots that i took at the first leg of todays (rather yesterdays 24th Jan) event. Later on i took over Khan saab's spidey and forgot the camera bit.

This was a technically challenging trail and can sometimes take a good toll on the vehicles and the participants.

Day 1 went off pretty well and as per the last information we had, just before we left for BLR, no major breakdowns was reported. So for the time being enjoy the pictures and am sure many would be updating this thread soon.

Distinguished guest's included our beloved UBS sir who is camping today along with the participants and Behram from M&M who flew in and hopefully flew out, if he managed to get to the airport on time.

We had teams from Chennai and Hyderabad participating and kudo's to the guys who drove hundreds of kilometers to join in!

Arka & DKG also included.

Mahendra, just as a spectator I'll put up my comments later. It was too large a trail, too many cars and too many obstacles. We were on this spot below for more than hour and a half.

Arka can surely elaborate better once he gets back to Chennai.

First of all, What a day, What an event - Guys I have no words.

@RedLiner : Thank you for giving me a pass at the last moment.

To be true, being the first off road event I have attended in person - I was scared at times, wanted to give a loud cry seeing some parts of the trail

By the time your Jeep (BTW by coincidentally I was with Siddu, Nithin and Jayesh in your Jeep) came in, THAR was just about leaving. So we saw it, but could not do your Jeep with Thar photoshoots. But germanboy, your jeep is worth a photoshoot now

Whose JONGA is that in a picture ?? Is it still having original 4L petrol engine ??

Defenitely people will be uploading more, please give them sometime. 60% of the team is still doing the OTR and will return by today evening. Oh i forgot to mention Tejas and Roy who also flew in from MH

I am in office now but still dreaming of yesterday and still tired of Yday. I had to rush back just after we finished the trail and meeting with BEHRAM at about 7 - 7.30 .

What a day it was. It was a different trail than the one we took in Nov but was equally exhilarating.

My Camera too has some photos but is with my BIL as he has the Jeep. Will start a report ASAP .

Was waiting for this. Most guys must be still at the OTR, so I guess there will be a flow of pictures soon. Yet, any pictures of the Thar? Hope it was not the same one seen at the Expo and is just a plain jane version.

I am still cursing my luck. God, wish I was there.
