Pune Nomads- First OTR

The Pune Nomads met up for a short offroading session earlier today.

Participants:
saby4x4 - Gypsy 413W 1999
Ibrahim - Gypsy 413W 1999
Sawyer - Gypsy 413W 2009 MPFI
COUGAR - Gypsy 413W 2007 MPFI
WickedWheels/Amit Gaud - MM550
Kunal - MM540

Place: Off Wagholi, Nagar Road. North-North East of Pune Airport.

Synced up with the rest of the gang at Viman Nagar at 7am and we were on our way by 0715.

The terrain at the place was mostly gently undulating dry grassland with loose gravel and rocks thrown in to make things interesting. With the first rains, this area is going to rival the toughest of offroading terrains seen this side of the country. Truly a magnificent discovery.

Limited number of participants and a small course: but a LOT of fun and some learning as well!

as i said it was a small quickie course. we met at 7 and were done by 1030! it would be a long drive for mumbai folks.

lets do sawarsi again sometime: pune + mumbai

Nice. Seems you guys had a lot of fun. Why was the mm540 being towed? Stuck somewhere or mechanical problem?

Hi Tejas thats a mm550, no problems with it i beached it on the climb while doing it slowly. It stuck with all four wheels in air.

James i am waiting for the snap of the JUMP the 550 did after getting beached......

@saby: i dont think anyone got that snap of the first jump which went superbly.

the second jump was not all that dramatic as the first one!

+1 on the pics: WHERE ARE THE PICS? i think there were a half-dozen cameras clicking away?

Anyway in between driving watching Atom and having fun here are some of the pictures i was able to shoot.

All in all it was a nice short off road drive, some of the newer guys just wanted to get a feel of OTR driving.

Set of pictures from a complete newbie to OTR (thanks to Sawyer, I was able to attend my first OTR). So, please excuse me if I haven't been to capture activity correctly in terms of angle, terrain et al. I was bit scared at times, hence hadn't got close to action spot.
