The Next Chennai OTR will be to Kelambakkam on 31st October 2010.

Itinerary
0800 - Assemble at Tidel Park
1000 - Start Off-Road
1200 - Finish Off-Road
1300- Lunch

Hi Guys,

The OTR on Sunday (31-10-2010) was a well attended by Chennai standards, we had 10 4x4s.

Since there were a few first-timers we did a few basic climbs and descents.

There was a catch, since the quarried area was undulating, the recent rains created pools of water, which had to be negotiated to access the obstacles.

SWEET!! That doesn't look like TPC terrain at all! Where is this?

And looks like all the Gypsies are on Trapadors!!! Sadly I am unable to find them in Mumbai. When suspension is compressed in stock gypsy, does the tire foul on the wheel arch when pointing straight forward? how about if the wheel is turned?

Hi Guru & Allan,

This area is the Kelambakkam Quarries (There are 7-9 Rock Quarries).

The Terrain is rocky, with a lot of shale. The water level depends on the rains, from a few feet to impassable during the monsoon.

Really surprised to see how this area has transformed after the rains. From what I understand, the approach to that 'steep-ascent-over-hump/3-point-turn/steep-drop-over-hump' obstacle is now full of water. Must have been challenging, I guess. Did stock Gypsy clear that obstacle without much belly-scraping?

Otherwise can we catch up at President as usual?

I am in Chennai tomorrow afternoon through Saturday morning. If some OTR event is planned for the weekend then I'll hold on a bit longer.

Itinerary.(19-12-2010)

0830- Meet up at AdventureZone (Maj.Roys Camp).Please finish your Breakfast on the way.

0900- Drive to the Riverbed

1230- Drive Back for Lunch/Disperse

Please carry all the recovery gear and spares as necessary.

All Participants who don't have a 4WD please tie-up with members having 4WDs.

The Cars & Bikes can be parked at Adventure Zone.
