Why is the Classic taking off in the second picture? Was it necessary to gun it so much?

Dont think its taking off, the front tyres would have been spinning by then. You can see the tread quite clearly. And I dont think the picture is taken through a pro camera.

The climb out of the ditch is a nasty one and you need to gun it to climb. Without momentum and the jump you can't clear it.

Tejas - I tried crawling up but the climb is a steep one with lots of loose gravel/stones. You do not have any other option than to use momentum.

I crawled both the times - but both time times the rear started spinning wildly after the front climbed up - i choked on the dust royally

I have done similar climbs in my classic and i have never taken off like this. Did you try with a little less acceleration? Just enough to get momentum to keep going?

Clarification: I'm not questioning anyone's techniques here... just generally discussing.

Even Sundeep's Willy crawled out of the pit. In fact, he did not have any momentum and he accelerated only when the front wheels where on the slope!
