I can't wait to drive Spidey and FEEL the difference SPOA, Crawlers and Diff-Locks afford. Will it be a momentum game or will it simply power out of obstacles at slow speeds like a torquey diesel? Yummy!

@ DKG, am not going to take part per se in the AKC. Will be more of a spectator, and maybe hitch a ride with some of the other vehicles if permitted. Also a sort of initiation for my son Aditya, who is an off roading enthusiast.

Regards
Gautam.

@Kunal: Considering that logistical arrangements can become a nightmare, so would suggest the following:

Put a cap on the total # of Vehicles that can be there on the OTR
Put a cap on # of people that would be there -- for you to make arrangements for lodging/food etc..

I say this with observations made from the Bangalore Annual OTR.

One option is if there are too many entrants wanting to join in split the group and have them do the OTR's in a cycle, that is if you wish to encourage more people.

So half the group starts with Rajmachi and the other half with your farm house site.

Other option is like how Shahnawaz is recommending

Guys i think breaking the gang in groups will kill the fun,

We are enough people to co-ordinate and manage the convoy.

some of us will be meeting for the first time, some of us are too comfortable with

each other so there might be a situation where in regulars will not go seprate.

I agree with you, if the number swells to a very very big crowd things will become difficult.

I think a cap of about 25- 30 vehicles, which will be a huge number as it is.
Accomodation for 50 people would not be too difficult but the guys will have to sleep dormitory style and the women can have the two private bedrooms.
What do you guys think?

With this number of vehicles on the trail we might have to split the number into groups and assign group leads who are familiar with the terrain.

Like Pdev said splitting the gang up will actually be more of a logistics nightmare and no fun.

Instead we will all leave together and tackle the trail in convoy one behind the other.

That way we can help each other in the case of any event.

I am eager discuss things with all the guys coming for this weeks recce so i can post all the final details by mid next week.

Good idea, although you'll get way too many requests for double that figure !!

Great. So plant out the details and post them here so we all can plan accordingly..

Most probably, all of us bangalore folks will drive together and take 2 days to reach this place. So we will start on Thursday morning & reach there on Friday evening.
