In addition to Kunal's schedule, the bombay group has planned the Sawarsi and Rajmachhi events.

I know most of the out of towners are arriving by thursday night and are planning to halt at Pune.

So this is the plan:

Friday early morning to late evening, we do the Rajmachhi circuit in lonavla. Then we head to Kunal's farm (2hours drive). Then we proceed as per Kunal's schedule.

On Sunday, after breakfast, we head out to Sawarsi which is 2.5hours away and do that trail. This is the most difficult trail with steep climbs.

We would be done by late evening.

You guys are going to have three days to crazy offroading. That's a promise.

If you need more, let us know and we will include more trails wither one day before or after the event.

I'll put up exact details (timings, etc) of our these two circuits by next week.

@Tejas: Bangalore folks will start Thursday early morning from Bangalore and halt midway (I doubt it will be Pune). So how do we join the Lonavala OTR on Friday early morning.

Realistically speaking, we would halt anywhere between Hubli - Belgaum (Max that we can target) on Thursday night. So, that would mean we will not be cover ~400 kms to Lonavala on Friday to attend Rajmachi OTR.

We were planning to reach the AKC venue by Friday evening/night. Hadn't planned for Lonavala on Friday.

Let's get arrival dates from other outstation folks and plan accordingly.

Again to add,
the bombay gang shall undertake recces, this weekend and obtain all necessary permissions for the rajmachi and sawarsi trail.

Plan is, if the outstation gang is putting up in pune on thursday night,
we head to lonavala for breakfast,
and hit the rajmachi trail as early as possible,
lunch shall be arranged for, on the trail itself
this trail is might fun, lots of slush and the infamous climb at the end
lunch shall be planned , at bori bunglow, which is a beautiful climb and a very very scenic spot
Also the weather here will be out of the world, meaning cold, fog and rain
some pictures of rajmachi, the place where orangie is on the steps is where lunch is planned

From there we head to karjat and follow the alfa kilo plan.

then sunday early morning, we head towards sawarsi, and attack some very tricky terrain
slush, rocks, climbs, decends and lots of tricky ruts

Khanbhai,

Can you make it lonavla by atleast late afternoon? We can start the rajmachi trail with the rest and you can easily catch up.

This is MADNESS. This is EVIL. This is CORRUPT. This is a very very very bad way to get more people interested in attending this event.

There are some decisions to be made in the next few days. Bangalore guys need to re-coup.

Keep a full day for Rajmachi guys. We need to start early. If you want to start Friday morning I can travel on Thursday and reach Pune. How far is Lonavla from Pune? Lets assemble at breakfast at 7 at Lonavla. Which means if I need to get up at 5 am and drive to Lonavla from Pune so be it ! Boy those Rajmachi pictures are giving me the goosebumps. That place is divine. Can't wait to reach there !

BTW I would love to retire in Rajmachi

Once the plan has been finalized, we will alter our travel plans to reach Lonavala Friday morning.

He he. Myself, Jaggu, Viji and 2 more folks are going here FOR SURE. This is a great opportunity to do some off-roading in Western Ghats and meet lots of people. Can't let it pass by

Lonavla is one hour (1.5 for Jeeps ) away from Pune via the expressway.

Bangy boys, leave wednesday night please.

AND PRAY FOR THE RAINS!

Jeeps will go slower and it's a big convoy. Thus, playing it safe.

What about stay options Thursday and Friday night? What do you guys recommend?

Stay at Pune and drive up in the morning?
or
Stay at Lonavla
or
Stay at Kunal's camp? (is this as close to Lonavla as Pune?) meaning coming from Hyd is this after Lonavla or before?

Rajmachi are we camping there in the night? (should be a riot if we do !)

PS Just noticed Kunal is organising a bonfire dinner Friday evening at his camp. All the more reason we head into Rajmachi very early have full day of fun and head over to Kunal's place by 5 pm.

Shahnawaz we all need to have the full show at Rajmachi. Please get to Lonavla/Pune by Thursday night

Can we camp close to the Rajmachi trail Thursday night ? I know I know I am getting greedy !

Guy's I dont want to spoil anyone's fun, but just remember you would have driven roughly 800km to pune the first day.

you guys will be very tired on friday, attempting rajmachi on friday itself might not be such a good idea.(It is wet and cold).

The alfa kilo challenge is also going to be very wet, muddy and strenuous and will take us a good solid day to complete.

Then sarwasi the next day! all this will be very tiring to both man and machine!

Just the last night otr at karjat had everybody totally zonked out and wanting to head home.

It sounds like great fun but in reality might be too much.
