ANOTHER SUPER ! SUPER! offroading trip.

my personal high points of the trip:

1. view of the valley and other mountains from the mountain we were on.

2. managed to get the spidey stuck so bad that it needed to get winched.

3. driving my gypsy rally style thru 10-12 kms of continous uphill slush in the pouring rain and making it without getting stuck.

4. realising that the rest of the feild was stuck in the slush while i had already reached the resort and was enjoying my refreshments.:uncontrol

some not so high points:

1. had a punture on the way, and the spare blew in 20 mins of changing it. drove with khan's spare till we fixed the puntured tyre.

2. not being able to complete the trail and abandoning my vehicle due to tyre and clutch issues.

Wow! you folks had best of times. Siddhu, what did we say ? your gypsy is possessed. Kudos to her and you.

@JAGGU,

Thanks for these beautiful pictures.
You have captured the terrain and the action brilliantly.

Actually the really action was in the night, which was impossible for us to capture, because of the rain / slush and the dense forest.

Ok guys pics from my side has been updated along with report on page 2 and 3. Enjoy the madeness :D

The slush fest and the trek up to the dam...i wish i had gotten out of bed when I heard khan's gypsy fire up :deadhorse

@khan - I guess your gypsy needs winch & snorkel to be a complete off road monster.

Oh man, that night will be in my nightmare list for a very long time. I literally thought that it was my last night on the planet earth as the jeep was about to topple twice having 6-7 people in the vehicle. that was one heck of an experience. The jeep had tilted more than 40-50 degrees that too on a corner facing down. I could easily touch the ground sitting in the vehicle. That close it was. I donno how Vijay managed not to topple it.

Some people also had taken video's. Where are these people hiding?? Comeone, post the videos also here.

Bugger, Me, Bob, and Naga took Viji's jeep and we proceeded behind you, but remember we got stuck at a particular point (sandgrip tyres) and then we decided to head back?

What I missed was the early morning drive to the dam...DAMN! :D

So we have left the menace at the turn, where it refused to start. Morning Benji and Prabhu head to the location and finds that the main power line is the culprit, lucky Prabhu has a spare from his scorpio and he fixes it to fire up and drive to the resort.

While we waited for this, some of us managed to clean the interior of the vehicle to make it more hospitable.

We finally start off somewhere around 1230 pm and convoy proceeds for few kms and again Prabhu's menace starts misbehaving. The fuel pump gets disconnected due to bad wiring. Out comes tow bar from Viji, but its for a gyspsy and fitting it in 540 is not happening.

Meanwhile we have managed to get a maruti omni guy get off the road and stuck in the muck. Rajesh tows him out and finally the tow rope goes to menace, pulled by Robi. Rajesh leads the way as a pilot vehicle and we slowly to Munnar some 50+ kms away. Robi is still not trained by Sreeraj so he putters around at 30 km/hour.

After few hours we finally reach Munnar at around 330 pm and Robi's friends have arranged for a mech and electrician. As i predicted all this trouble was due to a silly connection and few lose fuses. While vehicle gets attended we have our lunch and finally at 6 pm we start back from munnar! :)

No it aint over yet ;)

Oh ya, Then me and prabhu made about Km from that spot. The incline was too long and steep, thats were Prabhu got stuck and took more than 2 hours to winch himself, and we turn back.
Ya buddy, morning you missed out. It was a sudden plan.
Lets do this when its dry. In the dam site there are more trails which is even more challenging and fun.
