I have seen Landcruisers go close to the sea and manage not to sink. At the same time I have also seen ones that go in like a hot knife cutting through butter.
DKG that was TEJAS not Devang. Devang was trying make Bakra out of Khan!! Also I guess I am closer to the machine we talked about!

Actually I was the one who suggested someone should attempt that stretch of fresh slush. I quietly slunk away when DKG's jeep sank in to cabin depth

I guess a Gypsy with most of the air let out of the tires could have made that stretch with sufficient momentum...too bad we didn't get too many opportunities to try.

NO WAY.. no vehicle with whatever tryes/etc could pass that stretch where DKG got stuck. It was equivalent of quicksand in off-roading terms. That fact that he made is thus far itself is a testimony to how great that tractor tread tyres are.

No, it wasn't me, but yes i did support devang! And anyways, where's the fun if you don't get stuck?

GS. As khan said, no chance! Infact alok completely gunned it in a smaller and less softer patch of muck and still got stuck.

We can try out that patch sometime later this month and also do the last part of the trail which is very difficult.

Gypsy,Jeep and a Gurkha couldn't make it, the Scorpio could ,in the 1st attempt, 4H 1st.
The driver was Sudesh who has many a desert Safaris to his credit in Dubai.

YouTube - Scorpio.m4v

Well this was the climb which humbled everything, from DKG R1 tires to Khans gypsy, MT tire or no tire. What this place needed was power and nothing else.

A day before I had tried everything up my sleeve to go up the hill but could not and even G 90 did not helped.

Scorpio went up in 1st high, and it had normal bridgestone HT tires. Guess POWER is what Gurkha is screaming!
