TPC 2010 - MH/GJ Participants Sync Thread

Hello Mumbai Gang - with the overwhelming support from the Off-Road enthusiasts from Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and other locations, EXAMM and AKC were a big success.

Now it is time to return the favor!

TPC - "The Palar Challenge" is coming up in a little over a month's time and we need to have a show of strength from these parts.

Here are some crucial dates for you to consider:

Reporting - 12th August 2010 (1600hrs)
Day#1 - 13th August 2010
Day#2 - 14th August 2010
Drive Back - 15th August 2010

There are 2 recces coming up for those of you who want to get their tires in the sand ahead of the actual event. The dates for these recces are:

Recce#6 4 July (Sunday)

Recce#7 18 July (Sunday)

The purpose of this thread is to muster participation from the Mumbai / Pune guys and get the registration process moving.

The benefits of registering early:

1. Convoy travel to and from Chennai
2. Cheaper rates for accomodation en-route
3. Gives time for TPC organizers to manage our needs
4. Gives time for the confirmed guys to prepare their vehicles
5. Redundancy decreases costs and logistics requirements
6. Perhaps leave a couple of days earlier to do some sight-seeing and/or have time to sort out any issues with the vehicles - this can be worked out

ONLY Maharashtra and Gujarat members who are 100% sure of making it to TPC 2010, PLEASE reply here asap so we can do a head-count.

I must finish off certain pending work to make this happen.

I'll try da but not sure to make it to TPC as i will have to block leaves for the North Trip. Let me in on those details. Need to start planning it.

18th july recce sounds like a good weekend to take a flight to and fro,
anyone wants to give me company
also guru, im gonna truck my cars down or either have my mechs drive them caus eill be tight scheduled

Allan - Trucking is prohibitively expensive. I explored the cost of trucking my motorcycles down to Coimbatore and back and it was around 35k. I am sure it will be much more for a few jeeps. Better to get the mechanics to drive down.

Scoring - Arka is the man to talk to. I suggest you do the 18th recce in 1 vehicle. If you need to leave it there until the event you can park it at my farm-house which is actually en-route to the Palar venue on the outskirts of Chennai.

I will let you know if I am able to join for the recce on 18th as I have to be there for the organizers recce on the 1st.

Sorry mate, i will be traveling for a cousin's wedding during the dates. Will miss being at the Goa MGE too!! Talk about bad timing!! You guys have great fun and we want a fullon report with mega pics!!

Thursday 29th: Mumbai -> Kolhapur (Drive Gypsy)
Friday 30th: Kolhapur -> Bangalore (hang out with friends)
Saturday 31st: Bangalore -> Chennai (hang out with Arka and co.)
Sunday 1st: Organizer's Recce at Palar
Monday 2nd: Fly back to Mumbai

Wednesday 11th: Fly to Chennai
Thu 12th: TPC reporting day
Friday 13th: TPC Day 1
Saturday 14th: TPC Day 2
Sunday 15th: Chennai -> Kolhapur (Drive Gypsy)
Monday 16th: Kolhapur -> Mumbai (Drive Gypsy)

@Despo - fly in on Thursday morning and drive back with me on Sunday. If I have a co-driver we can do MAA - BOM non-stop.
