Illugal Betta OTR Saturday 17th July

Prmd the Front & Rear bumper is all steel & hence the chrome kind of look. I am sure Telescopic Mags & Discover STT 31 * 10.5 will look good, but know that they are not required, also learn't Wider tires are not best for offroading but taller & deflated are better (according to research by Dr Mohan).

Yes its Krishna & Happy Wheels who are yet to confirm, for now the line up is as below:

Confirmed:

hiShiv White Gypsy ST
Nishant Trax Girkha HT
hiSunil Trax Gurkha ST

Tentative:
Krishna RedGypsy
Happy Wheels maroon Safari

We meet at Kanakapura Metro @ 5:30 AM ( I really mean GMT+5.5Hours and not IST)
have Bfast in kanakapura, do some birding near lakes, take the route towards Sangam, Later take a diversion for Ikkigul Betta, Enjoy the ponds, climb the tractor/jeep track, visit the temple on top, have (our packed) Lunch en-route our descend, Stop at the Other temple after decent for rest/break & head back to Bangalore, reach by 3:00 or 3 :30

Route Map:

This is not some obscure Gurkha, but a very familiar one to BHPians.

He obviously does not have a tow-hook. Not that I support towing with the rear shackles.

@ sunil: What happened to that flimsy tow hook normally provided on the gypsies?

My gypsy has Tow hook. Problem was the tow rope was very lengthy and gurkha could not reverse any further. So we decided to double it. now the width of the tow hook in gypsy was not enough to double it. So we attached it to the rear shackles.

MODS: I request these post to be moved to 4X4 Excursions section.

That's why i always keep one large sized shackle with me (5 ton rated). The tow strap goes through it and can be used to double it.

Hi Krishna,

Did Ajay take some Video? if so please ask him to post the same.

Nishanth Drives his Gurkha like gliding his palm over the surface, feeling all the traction & reflexes, very cool, got learn the tricks.

This being my First OTR with the Gurkha, I will sure cherish the same.
Appreciate, comments & feedback from co offroaders that will help me improvise.

These two are actually a pair. They were the two very first new generation Gurkha's (BS3) that were delivered.
