What a great time we had. I think when like minded friends go for an OTR, it helps as they are in Sync with each other and camaraderie is at an all time high.

It was a great trail, could be more fun had it rained. Unfortunately the rain Gods played truant. No worries. Had it rained, most of the trail would have been very challenging, not that it was not so already but the degree of difficulty would have been raised to another level.

Like the 1st obstacle of the EXAMM Otr. At that time, with no rain and a dryer track it was a cakewalk for my CJ and the2 other CJs. At this time I tried around three times or so but was not able to get a firm grip. Also no Gypsy except Khan's Spidey (is it a Gypsy first of all?) could make it, this time all the Gypsyies cleared it without a problem. Even a certain 1.0 litre powered Gypsy, worth 3.5 lakh

Funny how the terrain gets unaccessable or vice versa.

I had Kunal and Tejas spotting for me but after three tries i decided to back off and let the others try. The track was also getting worse with each try of mine.

I was loosing traction at the end part where i was supposed to turn lefty o the rock but because of the NDMS and a very narrow track, the Jeep kept getting pushed into a spot where the rock obstructed it from going any further.

My tyres were letting me down. Great as they are the NDMS lack the grip and the width to get over certain obstacles.

Ok Whos the wise guy who just shouted "Driver Error"??!!

Highlights of the trail;

The approach to and fro through a declined waterless water way/gutter which became an incline the other way around

I presume on days of immense rain a lot of water flows through here from high points. Rocky to the core with slush and mud thrown in all around. Surrounded by complete dense vegetation, a challenge to climb up as well as down. Just loved it.

to be continued

I do. It is a ex Geological Survey of India CJ restored by Sanjiv Singh in Delhi.

Switching to the OTR

Glad you guys had a awesome time! Missed it but was having an awesome time sitting on gypsies slithering on the mud tracks of tadoba. Saw everything other than tigers though!

It is quite interesting to see how weather changes the track in a few weeks. During the recce, the CJ made its way up the first obstacle pretty decently.

One thing that comes to mind is that all those monster vehicles with big fat tires would churn up the terrain pretty bad if not careful especially if they are thrashing trying to get out!

@Tejas: Gogi does belt the CJ on the expressway. On the tarmac, the crawling sikh becomes the flying sikh!

Let us fix a particular car as the last car of the convoy . I had observed two critical mechanical failures which were out of bounds of the concerned driver/owner . Luckly James was there, SO he fixed both problames ( to drive back to home ).Both vehicles could have been stranded for long before they could have communicated with others.

Also everyone specially drivers/owners please come prepared in terms of hand tools & minor spares . I dont know how much prepared everyone was , but things need to be checked as failures can happen with any one of us .There are NO exceptions to this.

And let us not forget to thank James ,the always ready to help guy.

I agree to everything and also give a big up to James, he is the guy i look to for support everytime. An awesome guy who helps everybody, cheers mate.
