I think the last climb got tougher because as more teams ran the SS it exposed a "shelf" or a vertical face which was causing the vehicles to bounce off instead of going over. Most of the drivers made it there with time to spare so they could try different angles and get over it. The Kerala team approached it at an angle and this technique really worked well for them.

Yes Vikram we are aware of the transmission issues you had but it was enormously entertaining to watch you and Sunil get properly stuck on MY SS Sunil was in danger of overturning at one point...thankfully Allan agreed to help pull him out of danger and the Sri Lankan team were very helpful as usual.

THANKS GUYS!

Nice coverage for the event Arka! Should have given them "slush-cam" Put me in charge of the video-shoot next time and I'll give them a few more hairy moments.

I think that is Allan's jeep reaching for the skies in the video...spectacular!

Next year I am planning to include some "jumps" in my SS

Thats Prabhuav aka Vijayanand's MM540 reachin for the skies..one crazy guy he is eh?

What i liked about that character is that smiling face whenever i bump into him. That poor vehicle. He wrung it by its *alls for the event.

BTW, Allan, how did the V8 petrol perform? Can you share some strengths and weaknesses of "that" project please?

My videos of TPC10

Videos taken by me uploaded in YouTube :

YouTube - bluethunder2004's Channel

More videos of the thunderclouds and rain than of the 4X4s ....that was the occassion when i had lot of time , to be able to take the videos. When the teams were doing the SS, I could not take much pics/videos.

Hopefully, I will be putting up my brief report by today.

We missed the AKC as well as the TPC.
Feel very bad about it.

Next time we are determined to participate in both, especially the TPC 2011.
Me and my friend Mandar ,both Gurkha owners ,are looking forward to attend it.

Just as a matter of curiosity ,would like to know from those who participated both the AKC and the TPC, WHICH ONE WAS TOUGHER??

TPC was a competitive event. That's why it is made tougher. But AKC had its own thrills. I wish, in due time, Kunal should conduct something like the RFC in his terrain. It will become tough too. AKC was so scenic and the weather was fantastic.

Don't know about TPC, but Somvarpet event that happened this weekend was definitely tougher and lot longer than AKC. I don't think AKC can be considered tough, only the rise in water level caused a few anxious moments.

AKC was definitely the nicer place to be. Better weather, more scenic and more chill-out. The absence of a competitive mood also made it more accessible and friendly. There was time to try out different things while meeting different people. While the trail itself wasn't tough it definitely was exciting! The first slush pit, the steep descent, another steep descent down to the river (and back up for some of us) and wild boars running around scaring people.

TPC is not a picnic and it has a more difficult trail than AKC. I think 60-70% of TPC is comparable to the most difficult stuff we encountered at EXAMM. The remaining 40-30% is on a higher level of difficulty.

The main point is that the obstacles are tough...but the terrain overall is tough on the drivetrain, electrics, cooling and drivers/passengers. I just wish we had more sand everywhere...the quarrying is really making it easy with kuchcha roads coming up, hard surface being exposed.
