A small report from my side :

As this was my 1st OTR as a driver, I had an amazing time. Experienced the power of gypsy for the 1st time. Got to know that driving is 1000 times better and fun than taking pictures (Which I was doing since a year)

Also got to know that the obstacles are easy to clear than it looks like (provided we have good spotters)

Day one was good with limited obstacles where in a broke the rear bumper.
I was just following either siddu or jaggu through out the trial as i was not sure how to clear the obstacle. I was constantly asking about which gear to use as this was the 1st time i was using 4WD .
I could not dare to take the gypsy over the hill as i was not sure about coming back. May be in my next OTR ill attempt.

I still wonder how i cleared the toughest obstacle on day 2 as it was difficult to even walk the trial.
Some one told me "you should over come the fear ", i guess it was khan and All i did was blindly follow Dwarak, chetan and Sreeraj and made it to the top. And thanks sreeraj and vijay for the motivation which I required the most.

A big thanks to my group, Team 3 (Vijay swastik, siddu, jaggu, khan, chetan, sreeraj, star aqua etc) who helped me in every way a newbie needs on his 1st OTR. I owe you guys.

And for the people who is wondering who I am, below is the picture of what I was driving :

Thats not Viji's Gypsy. Its Tanzeem's IIRC. Nicely restored Ex-Army. It had a blast in the slush and up the steep hill.

We were shocked when we saw you back in action, that too only 2 vehicles without knowing the route. Hats off.

Jaggu, please start the report.

Ok next batch of pictures from my side.

Next is a nasty ditch at an angle, i stood there watching and thought it should be easy for a SWB, till i saw Ganesh in his F head pop a wheelie. Boy this is gonna be tricky!

With some crawl i manage that and move on and we see everybody line up for lunch.

After a decent hot lunch we start again, till we hit the next road block 50 mts ahead. This is Khan waiting for the pile up to clear up.

Ironwolf and team has returned after fixing the jeep. Now there is a slush bit and as usual heavy vehicles have a problem. One approach is dug up and whoever attempts it gets stuck. I followed a different line and could cross without much fuss.

Rest let the pictures do the talking.

Moved on to reach the rock face, video's of the climb you would have seen earlier. I thought i would try but saw a huge pile up ahead and then the boulders! I hate them, so parked and rested while the brave one's attempted it.

Hi all,

That was one of the best Bangalore OTR. 1st day was Amazing with some challenging terrain. Climbing single rock of 45 degrees is no joke. I have some pictures taken from my mobile phone. Here they go.

2nd day was made for 8-10 vehicles only. double challenging and the route is circumventing the lake shore path to mud pit. I had clicked several photos on Robinson's camera and request him to post them at earliest.

A good and well organized OTR. Really enjoyed every bit of it. Including the drive to the trail, filling up gas / morning breakfast / packing food / and of course the grouping of all vehicles by marshals.
The trail was superb, missed out the slush part, as the rain god weren't kind enough.
But loved the drive on the rocky climb, which eventually 5 vehicles could make it. That stretch was a vehicle breaker.
The night camp was too good. Except for the mishap happened to my windshield.

Dwarak Sir: Thanks for organizing this event, hope to see many more in the coming months.
Yes, have all the pictures you have taken, give me a days time will upload all, as have been traveling a bit.

Regards
