As I had mentioned in my earlier thread, the accommodation will be participants responsibility. We have blocked all the rooms in the same resort, which can accommodate around 100 plus people. The rooms are large enough to accommodate more than 4 paxs, hence, will be on four sharing basis with separate beds. Food could be ordered there itself, which will be charged as per the order, except lunch in the trail for day one and barbecue in the evening. Room charges - Rs 500/- net per person per night Food - Will be charged as per the order Can make the payment on the date of arrival Revert for any further clarification. Regards

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() Super pictures. I am so dying to get there. How far is this place from Munnar town? Also, do we need to block the room or can I check in there. |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() Lovely looking terrain. Did the Jeep with the NDMS have any issues on the slippery rocks? |

The acco payment needs to be done to the reception directly right? Or do you want us to transfer that also to you along with the 1500? As Roby said it is fully blocked and can handle ~100 guys.

Appreciate your confirmation. ![]() Would suggest to make the accommodation payment on the date of arrival. Or else it would lead to accounting problem. Quote:
The trail is 42 kms from munnar town towards top station. Will post the map with direction soon. You need not block the room, as this resort will not be open to public. The entire place will be taken by us. Quote:
NDMS did faced some challenges, but it did came out all the obstacles, except one stretch, had to use the winch. Quote:
Request all to do the accommodation payment on the date of arrival in the reception. Regards

| ![]() Rajesh and myself drove from Bangalore around 8:00 pm took more than 90 mnts to cross the Bangalore traffic and reached Munnar town at 6:00 am. Bangalore-Salem-Perundurai (Coimby route) - divert OFF NH into - Kangeyam - Dharapuram - divert to - UdumalaiPettai - Marayur - Munnar is approx 430Kms. The roads are very good, in fact SH is better than NH in most of the perundurai--udumalai route. Bangalore participants -- Can we start planning for the drive down to this event? Who wants to do a thursday night drive, who are in for a friday early morning drive? I am very familiar with my above proposed route. Only point to note is the chinnar forest checkpost in this route opens only at 6AM and closes by 6PM (?? IIRC)... So a late thursday night start would ensure a slow and steady approach into udumalai by 6ish AM and then onto munnar before breakfast time... what say guys? | |

| ![]() We had taken the Udumelpet route while returning last time, and it definitely is better, if going as a convoy. Since there is an elephant crossing section travelling alone, especially at night is not recommended. ps: BLR boys will not decide anything till the last one hour of departure. That is the tradition and i don't think anything will change ![]() |

A friend and I were crossing the ghats after Udumalpet when we spotted a tusker just besides the road. This was around 9pm. Later on we noticed watchers were there at most crucial points and traffic was almost nil. Honestly, I think you guys should do the Udumalpet route. its plain awesome. I am going up that way too from Coimbatore. But after realising Sree uncles is a topper in organising, I completely agree with what Jaggu says and realise they will just go whichever way. ![]()

![]() ---------Roby/Shibu------From what time onwards the resort is booked. Is it from Friday morning onwards? ; with a 12-12 check in/out time? I am planning for a thursday late night drive and reach munnar by friday 12 noon. Should give time for any last minute repairs after reaching munnar. There is a good mechanic just next to the bridge when entering munnar from udumalai side -------------------------------------------------- When was this ride done? I was told (and so i practised) the udumalai route only between 6am-6pm... did not know we can drive thru night...!!
