I thought the closest from Coimbatore is Coimbatore- Pollachi- Udumalpet-Marayoor- Munnar. Around 150 kms. The route is picturesque all along the way with drastic change in geography. Last edited by beejay : 19th November 2010 at 12:33.

Sunils route is a intended-longer one just for adventure and exploring new roads. When are you planning to hit udumalpet? May be we can catch up there. I am planning udumalpet on friday morning. How about you? @Tejas - Ok, will watch out for your plans. Please post it here once finalized.

| ![]() Beejay, for you that is the shortest route. For sunil i guess he is covering valpari and the forest route to see athirapalli waterfalls etc and reaching munnar is actually a very very long drive.he can take a deveiation from avinashi to pollachi and enter into valpari and from there drive to amaravathi which is in chinnar -udumalpett route and reching munnar is the best if he can miss the forest trail at sholayar. These trucks are mostly MH registered and from up north. I am not sure where they arrive from. I will try to find out today. Should work cheap if they are coming down empty. But, is there time now? Quote:
