Dear friends
The biggest nationally represented, R&T – 4x4 extreme adventure action takes place annually during December in Kerala – (Gods own country) with competitors and press coming in.

This assembly of 4x4 vehicles and enthusiasts from different walks of life will be sharing friendship, teamwork as well as giving their best to win the prestigious Individual Champion, or Team Champion Award.

This year we will be conducting this event in December 11th 2010 @ Kuttikanam - Kerala.

The event format is to test the drivers and co-drivers skills and ability to overcome various obstacles to the maximum along the nearly 2 kms stretch and may expect rains and heavy fog during this event. It will mean overcoming muddy stretches, slippery rocky uphill ascents and equally tough downhill descents, crossing rain swollen and flowing streams and deep ruts. Conquering all these and completing the entire track is in itself, an achievement, let alone winning the award.

This year “R&T” – (/// Road & Track /// Auto Catalyst) and “Pas-Sear” – (Institute of Adventure and allied sports) along with close 4x4 jeep enthusiast is organising this event, which will drains the strength from bodies and legs already soaked with rain and slush. One has also got to be self sufficient for the entire event as well as be able to take the hardship and beating from whatever Mother Nature throws at them.

For the competitors, they have to endure the hardship as well as being able to take the rigours of the Special Stages (SS). At the SS, they will be especially tested for their recovery skills to the fullest, and thus save points without the help of winching from the Marshals. This will add up to the championship at the end of the event without minus points. These are the very difficult parts of the event, selected by the organizer to test the teams to their limits and beyond.

This is definitely not a rally event, where competitors will have to speed over long distances during the SS. Accelerator and engine power do not rule supreme in a challenge adventure 4x4 competition, but recovery and thinking power to overcome the obstacles in the fastest time do make a big difference.

And, last but not least, the adventurers are at the forefront of protection of the eco-system, a strict jungle code of ethics is enforced and everyone looks after the environment leaving "nothing but footprints and tyre tracks.

So, come this December, when the wind and fog will be at their height, but in their pursuit for adventure. R&T and Pas-Sear 4x4 Challenge is a time to live your passion in 4x4 adventure to the fullest.

It was a good track, sadly nature was not cooperative and event formally had to be postponed half way through. But then we had a ball of a time with free time opened as free for all.
