Hi Guys,

Happy New year.

Planning to take the children of KSCCW (Karnataka State council for Child Welfare) on a Half a day's Joy trip to Illugal Betta / Sivappana Betta Near Sangam.
The same place as in the below thread.

Plan is to get some Jeeps from couple of forums, Leave R.T Nagar @ 6:00 am, re-group @6:30 near Kanakapura Road Metro, later Breakfast @ Kanakapura by 7:30 AM, pack lunch, climb the 7 kms off road / jeep track, Have lunch at top & return to Bangalore by 2:00 pm.

Kids will get back to their regular contented life's, and We will have had the Privileged to escort them around & spend some time with the children, learn new meaning for happiness & satisfaction.

You are invited to come with your family & loved ones, take care of a child for Half a day.

Volunteers are welcome to contribute.

Last time we had a smiler G2G but inside Bangalore & shopping in BigBazzar, pics are here, contributions collected in this trip will be used for a similar shopping trip later.

Date: Jan 8th Saturday
Place Start: @ R.T Nagar 6:00 Am between Ganesha Temple and Post Office.

35 kids & 3 wardens will join in for the trip.

Donations collected will be used for a 3rd round trip to some shopping place like big bazzar,
In total we will need around 17,500 Rs. (500 Rs per kid) for shopping sphere later to get one dress & one toy of here choice.
you can pay what ever you are comfortable, or sponsor a child or just come join us and have fun.

Many people (at lease some) donate for the educational needs of the kids.
Hardly any take them out to have fun. This is an effort to give the kids half a day
Of Joy & freedom to choose their dress (I know our kids take this for granted)
Pick a toy (New one that they like !!) Order & eat at the restaurant &
play games (that’s the best part kids like).

All the children in the NGO are either Orphans or single parent’s
(who cannot economically support the kids & have left them here)

What vehicle are you planning to get Crew Cab or MM540?

I was wondering, that I might have to do couple or more trips up & down if we cannot get at least 6 to 7 Jeeps for the meet.

Surprising to see not-many are interested!, May be its the odd 6:00 AM on winter morning that has put people off.

Will be getting the crewcab,though would've loved to get the 540,considering the children that we'll be ferrying,thought best to get a covered vehicle.

Nah !! Its not the winter morning that has put off people. Announce an OTR at that hour and see people rushing in like mad . As spoken earlier, will try to get some more folks roped in.

@ Cyrus43 Thanks Mate, its something small we do every year for like last 4 years & believe me its pretty addictive,
In fact this time trip was started off by previous volinteers & my cousins, I had actually forgot about it his year.

@ Grace, We can use cars + jeeps to get till the base (most of the distance too about 90kms)
& use Jeeps with Open tops to get up the hill, we can do 2 trips up & down as its only 7 kms, if need be, I am sure it will be lot of FUN.

kittigadu, we met in R.T Nagare right? & Yes Sir Open Top 550 will sure do.
in fact Open top is when kids will kind of feel the Off road adventure.

Please bring in your families too & earn some brownie points

How exactly are you associated with this NGO? I too love doing such work, especially when kids are involved.

This time I cannot be of any help for personal reasons but from next time onwards I will participate for each and every event and contribute liberally too.

dwaraka Sir I gues it is HDFC0000261 its HDFC Bank Jayanagar Bangalore Branch.

COUNSEL I worked with the NGO for like 9 months after I finished my BE before joining Texas Instruments. Was teaching them Computer Hardware so they become independent & can work by just buying a screwdriver set.

Computer Hardware repair here is only at board level & not chip level, so can be easily done, later moved on to corporate works & now the ONLY way I am associated is via there annul outings :(

Guys Last minute GOOF-UP :(

The kids are over booked it seems !! Miscommunication between the 3 wardens has caused it.

I Sincerely Apologize for the late cancellation,
Have called up all members who had confirmed (numbers that I have) & one of us will be opposite to metro to let any one who comes know hat its cancelled too, please spread the word too.

I will recheck with all 3 wardens & res schedule with new dates once I have them.
